Back to reality

I’m back at work after a 5 day vacation. And wouldn’t you know that this was the only morning I couldn’t get my butt outta bed. I’m so tired. I’m sure that part of it is the dogs whined to go out about 4:30 this morning. I’m so glad it’s a short week. I really can’t believe it’s Wed. already, not to mention the 3rd of Sept. Where or where is the time going?

I did pretty well yesterday with my old desktop. The only thing it’s really missing other than speed is my FTP program. I’m gonna end up overloading the store as soon as I get the issue fixed. I finished 1 pack of papers that I had been working on and another complete set. I sat there with the 70’s music channel on my satalite all day yesterday in front of the laptop. I also got 4 challenges done over at the garden. Here’s my page for my quote challenge.

Septquote

And here’s one for the COOL w/t Mojo - It’s an AAM challenge.  We had to use photos from our childhood.  These were actually on the old desktop, so I has happy I could grab them.

So I think I got alot accomplished yesterday.  I think that things will be rather busy here at work today.  Usually the begining of the month is.  I’m sure that yesterday was really tough on the old lady I work with.    I’ll get my turn next week with her on vacation.

Don’t forget about about the Template with a Topic challenge over at Heather’s CT blog.  We supply the template and the topic and you do a fabulous layout.  You can get a chance to win a $10 GC or even a $20 GC to Heather’s store.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy day after Labor Day!!

I hope that your weekend was wonderful.  The weather here in Central Ohio was gorgeous, if not a tad too hot.  My face is a slight shade of red from being out in the sun throwing horseshoes.  I played in the big tournament on Sunday.  It was an all day affair with 24 teams and went for about 8 hours.  Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I didn’t have to stick around that long as I lost my first 2 games.  I threw really well on my first game and even though we lost it (it was close) I was happy with my performance.  And for a change, my partner was the one making all the apoligies.  I’m really hoping to get Most Improved for this year, but they changed the criteria from how it was done in the past and there are some women who’ve been playing for several years in the mix.  Whatever happens, I’m getting better and can hold my own and that makes me happy.

What doesn’t make me happy is that my Dell desktop crashed on Friday.  Two weeks out of warrany.  Isn’t that just the case.  So I hauled out my old one that is ancient and SLOW but works so I can still surf.  I’m not sure what I’m gonna do about my Dell.  I really would love a MAC but I just paid off both the laptop and the desktop and really can’t afford another payment.  The good thing is that almost ALL of my scrap products have been backed up to disk or the laptop so I didn’t lose anything that I paid for.  However, all my layouts are on there and haven’t been backed up.  I know Barb mentioned how important this is a few months ago, but silly me didn’t listen.

There’s a new blog challenge on Heather’s CT blog.  It’s a good one if you ask me.  A great chance to scrap and maybe a chance to win a GC from Heather’s store.

You can get all the details and the download link on the template here.

Don’t forget about my Quote challenge over at the Garden.  I think there’s a pretty good posting bonus that goes with it.  You can find the link in the prior post.

Off to back up everything on the laptop and try to get a few more papers done on the next paper pack I’m working on.

Have a great day and happy scraping.

It’s been awhile

I’m back…………………. Well I was back on Sunday night, but trying to get caught up on things, deal with spoiled dogs and a whiny man. I still have photos on my camera that need to be uploaded somewhere and all the ones my brother took are on my laptop still. So no photos yet. Sorry. Had a wonderful time though. All the kids are growing like weeds. Josh is a total typical teenage. The only time I could get him to chat was when I let him beat me at Wii (my first time playing it) or when we were dueling on Guitar Hero ( he ridicules me for playing on easy, when he’s almost got the hard level mastered. While he’s sullen with all the adults, he’s still awesome with his sisters. Both girls adore him. Emily is a 3 year old drama queen. God help us if she doesn’t outgrow it. She’s very independent and while she thinks she can do everything herself, still wants someone right there every step of the way. She was very excited that Aunt Diane was there. And my little 1 yr old, Addi is just the sweetest tempered baby. Very little rattles her. We took her and Em to get Addi’s 1 year photo done. They are adorable. I don’t know if the company My Photographer is just a Michigan based studio, but I highly recommend them if you have one in your area.

Why is it that men are such babies? Shannon had 2 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Enough said. bwahahaha

Now for some scrapbook stuff. I’ve got a few new kits that I really want to call attention too. Kristine of Wenchd Grafix has this awesome new boys kit in her store. It’s called Bat Boo and is named after the son of one of her CT members. It is a space kit and has the most adorable little alien in it. I’m looking forward to getting some photos of the little guys at the campground this weekend so I can use it. Take a look.

See the alien cutie. You can pick this up here and check out Da Wench’s other great stuff. She’s very underrated.

Heather has a beautiful new collab kit in the store. It’s called Strawberry Mint Chip. She worked with Robin Gough on this one. Truly gorgeous. It’s available at her store. Take a look.

And if you purchase it this week, you get a free bracket album.

And we’re running a challenge over at the CT blog. I’ll have a new post later today with more details, but in a nutshell, link your layout made using this kit to the CT blog. Everyone who participates will get a $5 GC to Heather’s store (collabs & CU excluded) and 1 lucky scrapper will get a $15 GC. Easy peasy.

I can’t believe that this month is already half over. Where is the time going??? Well I’m off to the shower so I can go to work to scrap. lol. Have a great day all. I’ll be hitting the blogs at work and then back to leave comments tonight.

Thunderboomers

And thankfully they have been nothing but noise where I live.  With all the footage of the devastation that storms have caused in the last few weeks, I’ve decided that these storms are worth watching.  There used to be a day when I loved a good thunderstorm.  Now I just worry too much.  The line of storms last night stretched from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania, right along the I-70 corridor.  When they broke into regularly scheduled tv programing last night for the warnings that were well south of where I live, I then had to worry about the camper.  The main storms were either just West or South of where we keep it.  Fortunately there have been no reported damage from that area and we just need to ride the tornado watch out til 11 am.  Next comes the heat- 90 degrees.  So much better than snow!!!!!

Heather has a new grab bag out.  For only $2 you get a Bundle of Scraps.

There is a lot of cool stuff in this bundle.  Stop by the store and pick it up.  You can’t beat the price.  And don’t forget about the June CT challenge.  A chance to win a $20 gc from Heather’s store just for scrapping your dad, your kid’s dad or your dad in law.  Check it out here.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy May Day!!

I can’t believe it’s the first of May already.  Where is the year going?  I only have 3 weeks left of being 40.  Time flies whether your having fun or not.

Ok, the main topic of interest this week of course is NSD.  Are you as excited as I am?  This is gonna be a blast.  Just in case you haven’t seen the master sale list over at DST, I wanted you to know about a few of the sales that really have me interested.  I don’t have all the stores linked, but you can find them pretty easy.   Kristine will have a great sale over at her shop.  Everything will be 30% off including her commercial use stuff.  Heather will have her store at 30% off.  Other great sales that I can’t wait to check out include Lindsay Jane at SBB, Birgit & Flergs at SBG and now Dawn Inskip.  Having recently been introduced to her stuff (thank you so much Heather) I am overjoyed that she is having a 50% off all her stuff sale this week at a bunch of stores.  I’m stalking a bunch of designers to see what new stuff is going out and still looking to find new designers too.

Ok, all week long I’ve been talking about Heather’s CT NSD challenge.  I’m really excited about it.  When I was on OAKS CT we did a few of these and they went over really well.  I’m talking about a brag book exchange.  Look at this ad.

To get all the details, go to the CT blog here.  Heather has put this kit on sale for only fifty cents and that alone makes the price worth it.  But there are already 14 pages to this brag book.  The more people who participate the larger the book will be.  Here are a couple of pages from the book.

These are from members of Heather’s CT so you know that they’re great pages.   I really hope you’ll join us.  This could be an awesome book for a grandmother or aunt for Mother’s Day.

Have you seen the sneak peek at the collab between Heather & Dawn Inskip?

Tomorrow is the unveiling.  It’s a tremendous kit.  Keep an eye out for layouts from both CT’s.

LOST is on tonight. Woo Hoo.  I’m really not liking the previews too much though.  They keep putting my Sawyer in harms way.  All I have to say is they better not kill him off!  It’s bad enough he doesn’t get off the island.  If you hear a scream at any point during the show that looks like harm has come his way, that way me. lol.  He’s my weakness.

Have a great day.  Only 2 more days til NSD now.  Yea!!

Ok, it’s been well documented that I watch entirely too much tv.  Last night was no exception.  It all started with Idol, which was horrible.  I’m beginning to think that they are trying to sabotage the show.  I’m come on now, who under 50 listens to Neil Diamond?  I’m 40 and remember hearing his stuff as a kid and not really liking it.  No wonder the ratings are down, with the choice of mentors are you surprised?  But wasn’t Paula hysterical?  It just goes to prove that she is messed up on something for those shows.  How could she be giving out critique on the second song when it hadn’t been sung yet.  Truly a tv moment.  If you missed it, I’m sure it will be all over the net/tv/entertainment shows.  At least David Cook was good.   After Idol is Deadliest Catch.  It’s on the Discovery channel and one of my can’t miss shows.  Then I caught Robin Williams on Law & Order SVU.  I love Robin Williams the comedian.  I wouldn’t want to run into him in a dark alley.  He’s very convincing as a psycho.  His character got away at the end so I’m hoping that it’s going to be a recurring role.  My must see tonight is on Bravo, Top Chef.  Then tomorrow is Grey’s Anatomy and LOST.  See way too much TV.

So I’ve been perusing the main list over at DST on the sales for NSD.  I’m wanting to find some new designers and try out new stuff.  But all my faves are having such great sales.  Who’s your must buy for this weekend?  I’m sure that I’ll be alternating between SBB, SBG and DST for the chats.  Don’t forget about Heather’s chat at DST at 9 pm EST.

Stop back tomorrow to see what great challenge Heather’s CT has planned for NSD.  I think it’s gonna be a blast.

Gotta run.  New template in post below.  Have a great humpday.  The countdown to NSD is on.

Monday, Monday

Yea! It’s 55 degrees outside right now. And it’s 7 AM. It’s supposed to get into the mid 60’s today with rain later on tonight. Of course nothing lasts forever and it’s supposed to snow again tomorrow. I’d say only in Ohio, but I believe it’s really only in the Midwest. I’m truly hoping that the snow that we’re supposed to get later on this week is the LAST snow of the year. I’m ready for daffadils and tulips. After all, it’s March.

Speaking of March, tomorrow is the primary here for Ohio. If you’d have said 6 weeks ago that Ohio could be the deciding factor on the Democratic ticket, I think a lot of people would have laughed. And then a lot of people thought that having the Ohio primary so far back was pointless. Well it may be for the Republican’s. I think that McCain’s got the nomination all sewed up. All I can say is I’ll be glad not to have to watch all those political commercials again for a few months. Talk about OVERkill. I’m so glad that I have Tivo and will be using it this summer to fast forward past all those commercials.

Ok, on to business. Do you like scraplift challenges? Well, over at Heather Manning’s CT blog, I’m running the first of the March challenges. No more coloring inbetween the lines. Scribble and doodle all you want. Check it out here.

And here’s my lift. I’ve never done a scribbly page before, so it was a little bit of a stretch. Frame & other doodles you can pick up in Heather’s store. The paper is from her Dirty Snow paper pak.

And Cherie Shields released a new kit at Sophia Sarducci’s. Sogni Dolci or Sweet Dreams for those like me who’s Italian is limited to pizza toppings. Here are 2 layouts I did with her new kit.

And don’t forget about Kiki Halbert’s new fabulous paper pack, Wasted Walls. Terrific for those masculine papes, but works great with the girls too. See Em being a Rock Star. The foil elements are by Kiki too, Foil Flourishes & Foiled Again. All are available at Plain Digital Wrapper.

I FINALLY got my Shutterfly Christmas book all done. I know that no one is in the mood to see cutesy Christmas layouts, but you just gotta see these. I’ve gotta be the only person still buying Christmas kits in late Feb.But I’m glad I finally broke down and picked up Jofia’s Warm Christmas. So much fun with this kit. And the alpha is glitter by Flergs. I finally figured out how to load it, lol.
And the last page of the book, us all playing my nephew’s game, he didn’t get to play it for a few days. lol.
And I among many others, went nuts for Flerg’s birthday and here’s one of the pages I did. Something about sleeping babies just touches the heart.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I’m going to enjoy the warm up, even if it’s only temporary.

A whole lot today

So much to write about today. Where to start. Ok, life first. We didn’t get the doom and gloom snow they predicted overnight. Which is great! However, it did go to the north and I think is going to affect my trip home to see the girls. Yesterday I was quite devesated by the whole thing as they were expecting 8 to 10 inches today, but I’ve calmed down. I think that I’ll just change my travel time a little and leave early tomorrow morning instead. Give the road crews time to clean the area up some. Plus I didn’t sleep all that great and still fighting whatever the old lady’s trying to give me. So on the bright side, if I don’t leave tonight, I’ll get to come home and 1) visit all the blogs I don’t get to read during the day & 2) scrap! So I’m trying to look at the brightside. It’s not easy when you’re a glass is half empty type of girl. However, if you don’t hear from me today, that means I made a run for it and will have to jump on my mom’s computer to catch up on the blogs.

I’m rereleasing my song quotes word art freebie. Why you ask, well that’s the next thing to talk about. But if you want the word art click the preview or here.

Ok, now you have some love song word art, you can play along with Heather’s CT on their latest challenge. It’s an easy one, and perfect for this time of year. Just do a layout with the lyrics from ANY love song. For everyone who participates, they will get free QP’s made from Heather’s Con Amor kit that was in her grab bag. And there will be a random drawing for 2 gift certs. Check out her CT blog for more information and other CT member’s layouts with love songs.
Here’s one I did for the challenge, I love the Wings song Maybe I’m Amazed. Ok, I’m a Youtube idiot and can’t figure out how to embed the video into my blog. But here’s the link. It’s a beautiful video for a beautiful lovestory.

Look here, we have a new store to shop at. Kristine (da wench) has opened her own store.
Stop by and browse through Kristine’s new store. She’s got some gorgeous stuff there. Just click the ad.
And Kiki has an awesome grab bag over at PDW that starts today. I’ve seen what’s in it, unfortunatly I didn’t have time to play with anything before the sale so I could show you a sneek peak, but for $2 it’s a steal!!

Well I think I’ve gotten everything. Please hope the weather cooperates for me so I can see those little girls. Cuz if I do, that means I get new pictures and a whole new scrapping mojo. Enjoy your weekend all and stay safe.

No more blogger at work.

So I’ve been having issues at work with my computer the past few days. When the IT guy called yesterday to go over things and reinstall and remove etc.. stuff, I just happened to have the site for my new blog host up. Well, later this afternoon I found that IT has blocked all Blogger based sites from my access at work. I have a feeling that forums will be next. I tried to clear out my history and stuff, but I know they have an exact printout of where I’ve been and such. Now I don’t know why they feel that scrapping blogs are so dangerous to the server but I’m pretty sure that I’ve ruined it for everyone else in the company. However I doubt that anyone else is a ticked off about it as I am. I have a boring job and the only thing that makes it even remotely tolerable is my Internet access. So while I’ll continue to blog I won’t be by to read your during the day. I will however continue to visit my friends, nothing will stop me from my appointed rounds, lol. I just wanted to let everyone know what was up and why I’m not traveling the blog train during the day. (or at least until I figure out a way around this). I did get a domain name and started to set up a new blog. I’ll let you know if I can access that one at work, not that it will matter, cuz I won’t be able to read yours at work.

So it was very nice to see this from Yen yesterday on her blog. I truly adore all my regular readers and am an avid reader myself. It’s nice to get to know what it going on in peoples lives. I am so majorly bummed out about this IT issue. Anyway, I would like to once again recognize Heather, Kristine & Cate. These girls are just such a part of my daily life. I can’t repeat what Kristine said about my IT issue, but it at least made me chuckle. Which I believe has become her main focus in life. Cate is my lifeline on trying to figure out my Vista and PSE issues. I don’t understand something, one email screaming help and the problems fixed. Heather believes in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. Love ya girls~Mwah!

I thought I’d play around with Kim B’s color challenge over at DSO. I don’t know when it started to become a design challenge, but it seems that everyone is trying their hand at that. I think I’ll stick to word art. But here is my very first attempt at papers.

Don’t forget to stop by Heather’s CT blog & leave a comment to be in the running for her newest grab bag. I’ll be randomly drawing a name of everyone who leaves a comment. At least I’m getting all those at my email. lol. Ok, I know shut up and do your job.

Have a great day! I’ll be missing you.

Finally Friday

Thank God! Of course I still have to get through today and 1/2 tomorrow without bi*chslapping anyone at work or home for that matter. I didn’t feel that Isn’t PMS a wonderful thing was an appropriate title for today’s entry, but that’s what it should be. And for those of you who are lucky enough to feel that it doesn’t really affect you much, wait til you get older. I am every cliche in the book right now. I got home from work last night, told the old man to do whatever he wanted just stay away cuz he ALWAYS pushes my buttons. I holed up with my computer, trying to fix something for Heather. Got so frustrated and mad that I just deleted it. Can’t get anything to go on a page so it looks half way decent. I really think that I could just curl up somewhere until next year and that would be just fine with me. Except that I’m the only one in the office til Tuesday (which is actually quite the blessing). And now I’m just a ranting and raving here. Just what you want to read.

On to something much more pleasant. Tomorrow is Heather’s BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
So a very, very Happy Birthday to you Heather, and many, many more!!!
Stop by her blog today & tomorrow and leave her birthday wishes.
And now I leave you with this little snippet. And a question. What is the legality of photos that are passed around in emails? I know that someone had to have taken them, but they’re never credited. I would LOVE to use some of them in some layouts. Maybe even find my mojo (but I doubt it). With all the issues going on with piracy in the digiworld does anyone know what the stance is on email photos?

Come on now, wouldn’t you just love to get your hands on this photo to scrap for one of your CT’s. I could think of half a dozen of the Christmas kits that would be totally awesome for this. Isn’t it adorable!!!
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend! We’re expecting snow so I’m sure it’ll a be a blast.

Scrap happy!
