Month end already????

Wow,  where did it go?  I can’t believe that it’s the end of the month already.  Do you realize that Christmas is only 86 days away?  Have you started your shopping yet?  Not me, I’m a wait til after Thanksgiving type of girl.  I do need to get started on my calendars though.  Last year after Christmas, I hit Target up when they had all their Shutterfly stuff on clearance.  I think I paid $15 for the calendars and that includes shipping.  Not too bad.

Did pretty well in the horseshoe tournament.  We lost the first round right out of the gate, but we did play one of the best players.  I kept up pretty well on my end, but it just wasn’t enough.  The second game we smoked em and then the third round was by far one of the best of the day.  I ended up having to throw against Shannon and his partner.  At one point we were down 20 to 6 and mounted a major comeback.  When the score was 18 to 20, my partner threw a 6 pack (2 ringers) and then Shannon’s partner did the same thing to cancel out the points.  Shannon’s shoe beat me by about an eighth of an inch.  It was a great game.  I didn’t get most improved, but in most peoples eyes, I have improved by leaps and bounds.  One of the best throwers pulled me aside and told me that he voted for me, which really made me feel good because at the begining of the year, he was one of those who really didn’t want me around cuz I was so bad.  There’s always next year?

Did you get a chance to stop by the Garden and check out the birthday festivities?  The QP scavenger hunt is a blast!  It’s still going on until tomorrow, so if you didn’t stop by, do so now.  The QP’s are gorgeous and there are 26 of them, enough for a mega book.  And remember that the store is having a birthday sale with most items at 40% off and select products at 75% off.

Look at what Myahsmommy did with my Mulberry Wine kit.  Isn’t her dd beautiful!

I totally spaced when I did the post.  You’d think I remember that since it’s the end of the month that tomorrow is the biggest and best blog party of the year!  Da Wench organized over 60 designers to do a giant freebie party.  check it out.

So make sure you check back tomorrow for my part and the link to the main blog where you can get EVERY one of the over 60 links.

Well that’s all the time I have for today.  Have a great day all!

TGIF

Another orginial post title.  But it definately fits.  For some reason, this week has just seemed to drag on.  Maybe it’s cuz it’s the end of the month or the nights are cooler and the days are shorter.  This weekend is the end of the year horseshoe tournament too.  I haven’t thrown in about 3 weeks, so I’m sure I’ll be very rusty.  It’s also the time they decide who gets the  most improved award.  There are 4 of us in the running.  I talked with the organizer of it and she’s calling everyone for their vote.  She said it was close, but didn’t say between who.  All I know is that I’ve definately improved since the begining of the year.  That may be all that is necessary.  Shannon’s been throwing hot lately too, but the men’s side has been wrapped up for over a month now.  Maybe next year.

Had a riot at the DSG birthday chat last night.  Who knew that so many women could be so goofy together?  Oh, yeah I did.  Missed Grey’s Anatomy, but have it on Tivo just don’t know when I’ll get to watch it.   Anyway, don’t forget about all the festivities at DSG this weekend.  In addition to the 40% off sale, there are great challenges going on and there will be 2 speed scrap chats.  Stop by and check out what’s going on.

And don’t forget about the new releases I have in the store.  Everything is 40% off.

Previews are linked to the store for you to check out the sale.

And check in with Da Wench later today.  She said something about having an awesome QP freebie made from her Enchanted kit that’s on sale now in her store.

Hope that ya’ll have a great weekend.  See ya next week.

Happy Birthday DSG

I can still remember when I first met the ladies of Digital Scrap Garden.  It was on the blog train over at DST.  I had just started blogging and CTing for Heather Manning and was trying to come up with a way to get people to my blog.  Freebies is what started me on it all.  I was checking sites daily and adding the previews to my blog.  That’s how I met Ladybug, Flutterby and Purple Frog, the talent behind DSG.  Time went on, as it always does and I stopped my freebie list.  There were other sites out there that had bigger (but not always better) lists.  But my friends would always pop in every now and then to say hi.  After a bit of time and some pep talks, I was convinced to join the store.  It’s the most fun I’ve had in ages.  The Goofy Dorks keep me on my toes and smiling through the day.  Thank you ladies!  Now it’s time to paartty.  Take a look at the different things going on to celebrate.

Sale, did someone say sale.  Yep!  The store is on sale for the next week.  40 - 75% off.  Here’s a sample of my stuff.  Ads are linked.

In addition to my paper packs and kit, all the other designers have their goodies on sale too.  And there’s an extra bonus.  With a $10 purchase you get the Sweet Dreams collaboration kit.  Take a look.

I also have 3 new paper packs that are hitting the store today and all 3 are 40% off.

Watercolor: Elements -

Vineyard-

Something Wicked This Way Comes -

And this one shows a little of the detail on a few of the papers.

In addition to the sales there is also a huge QP scavenger hunt made with the FWP kit.  More than enough to fill an entire Shutterfly book. There will also be challenges and freebies, giveaways and just tons of fun.  Stop by here to check it out.

And while you checking out sales, stop by and check out this gorgeous kit that da Wench made.  It’s on sale at her site Wenchd Grafix.  I’ll be joining Kristine’s shop soon too.  And watch for some beautiful QP’s made by her Dancing Dorks on her blog on Friday and beginning next week.  Look at this kit.  The purples are just to die for.

And last but certainly not least, if you read through all the stuff above, Congrats you found the freebie.  It’s an add on kit to Vineyard.  There are 2 papers, 2 frame clusters and 2 clusters for it.

Remember the main kit is on sale for the next week for 40% off.

Sorry link expired.

Don’t forget about the birthday chat at DST tomorrow night.  It’s gonna be lots of fun.

Hope to see you all over at the Garden for the big birthday bash.  Lots of freebies and challenges to get more freebies.  See ya there!

Only 1 more day

till the big birthday party over at Digital Scrap Garden starts.

Big sale, QP scavenger hunt, chat, freebies, and just good dorky fun.  Hope you’ll join us.

Sweet Dreams

The title has a multitude of meanings today.  Let me tell you about them.

On Monday nights, FX does a 4 hour block of LOST reruns, starting with the first episode which they ran last week.  I didn’t catch it last week but while thumbing through the guide, I did see it was on.  I originally was only gonna watch the 1st hour block at 7 pm, but as always, got hooked and watched all 4 hours.  It was sooooo good to see my Sawyer again.  And I’d forgotten what a jerk he was in the begining.  But who could resist that smile and Southern Accent.  The 10 pm episode was one of my faves, Confidence Man which gives the Sawyer background.  Plus you get to see him sans shirt quite often.  I miss LOST and am greatly bummed that it won’t be coming back until January!  I also had forgotten what a hottie Boone was.  Gorgeous eyes.  I couldn’t believe they killed him off.  Anyway, if you’re a LOST addict like me, and I know there are a few who are, FX on Mondays from 7 to 11 pm EST.  I figure they’re only about 7 episodes into it.  I definately had sweet dreams last night!!! sighs………………..

All week long I’ll be previewing different things for the Garden’s birthday party.  Today I want to show you the great collab kit that you can get with a $10 purchase.  It’s called Sweet Dreams.

I’m not sure exactly how many designers contributed to this but I know that there were a LOT.  There is going to be a storewide sale and special items along the way will be marked down even more.  Stop by the shoppe and see what great designs, kits and stuff we have there.  And don’t forget to stop by starting on Thursday to see all the festivities.  Oh yeah, we’re holding a Birthday chat at DST on Thursday night at 9 pm EST too.  Come meet some of the goofy dorks and win some cool things.

And one last note before I go read a novel (Amanda’s blog), I’ll have 3 new paper packs in the store on Thursday and all 3 will be on sale.  I’ll have a sneak peek for you tomorrow.

Until then, have a great day!

Mulberry Wine and a QP freebie

Hope that you all had a great weekend.  It was very low key for me.  We stayed home and mostly watched football and Nascar.  I did manage to get a little cleaning done, which is rare for weekends, especially when we’re always at the camper.

I’ve been showing you bits and pieces of my newest kit Mulberry Wine.  It’s now in the store and is 20% til Wed. night.  I also have a thread at DST for you to win a copy.  You can leave me a comment here until 5 pm EST Monday.  For every 15 people, I’m giving away 1 copy.  Here, take a look:

Don’t forget that Digital Scrap Garden is having a week long birthday bash starting Thursday.  There will be a huge sale and also a scavenger hunt.  Do you like QP’s?  Then you must stop by to find these.  They are magnificent!  There are over 25 of them, so they would easily fill up an entire album.  There will also be challenges, chats and did I say sale?

Here’s a QP for you that I made from Mulberry Wine.

Sorry link expired.

Be sure to check back for more info on the Birthday bash later in the week. It’ll be well worth your while.

Have a great day all!

TGIF

I think that is my most popular post title. So original….not. The weather is typical fall here. Cold at night and gorgeous 75 during the day. It’s killing my sinuses. But it’s the most beautiful time of year. I love football season. Hope it’s beautiful where you are too.

I have a special page to show you today. Dawn (Winksaheart) answered my plea for a 1 kit ct call and look at the beautiful pages she made with my upcoming kit, Mulberry Wine.

Greek_Festival_pg1_copy

Greek_Festival_pg2_copy

I certainly don’t do it justice by having to split it this way.  Dawn does such amazing photo clusters.  And she’s a real sweetie too.  But it gives you a peek into what’s in the new kit.  The alpha is by Fee Jardine.  The kit should be in the store this weekend.  Make sure you check out the Birthday Bash sales at the Garden, it just may be on sale for 40% or even 75% off one day during the party.

I’m off to take some sinus meds and open up the office.  Hope you all have a great day!

Back to SBR stuff

Ike seemed to have hijacked the blog lately.  Well, I’m glad to say that the power is back on and things about mostly back to normal.  Except for my refrigerator, it’s pretty bare.  Instead of going shopping last night, I worked on the posting bonus for the Digital Scrap Garden Birthday Party challenge I’m hosting.  Let me tell you, this is shaping up to be one heckva bash.   It starts Sept. 25 and runs to the end of the month.  I can’t tell you about everything, but I can let out a few secrets.  Shhhhhh don’t tell.

There is going to be a scavenger hunt and all the designers and their CT members made QP’s and let me say that they are BEAUTIFUL!  There is lots of talent at the Garden.  I can show you a sneak peek of mine and it’s just average imo.  Take a look.

There’s going to be sales, challenges, freebies,  and games.  Stop by today and start a bingo card.  That’s always a blast, but you have to get your card posted before the 25th to play.  I’m hosting a quote challenge and just finished up the posting bonus.  It’s an alpha. I know that there are LOTS of alpha fiends out there.  It’s an easy challenge too.  But you have to wait to get the details.  We also made a huge collab kit (see part of it in the QP above) that is a FWP from the store.  I’ve been working on a new kit that will be available especially for this sale.  Want another peek?  This is just a part of this kit.  A tease if you please.

There are 18 papers and at least 25 elements. Check back this weekend for another peek.

Since I worked on Sat. I don’t have to go in til later.  I really need to go to the grocery store, but I bet I’ll end up on the computer all morning.  Bad, addicted Diane.

Hope you all have a terrific day!

A minor inconvienence

Well, we’re still without power at the house.  We have a generator that we’ve run a little bit to keep the freezer solid.  And we got to watch a little news.  An while it’s an inconvienence, I’m still amazed at the news coming out of Texas.  I can’t even imagine not being able to get into my home to check it or to get there and find that there will be no living necessities like water or power for 6 WEEKS.  That just blows my mind.  And every time Shannon starts to bitch, I remind him that this is nothing compared to those who took a direct hit from Ike.

There are still 235,000 in Columbus without power and all the schools are closed.  How much would that suck to be a kid right now.  Or worse, the mother having to find stuff to do with the kids.  I have the photos I took Sunday night right after we got home from the camper.

That’s my hottub gazebo that no longer has a roof.  The hottub hasn’t worked since we bought the house, so it’s no great loss.  I’m hoping that the insurance will pay to remove it all.

And here’s a better photo of the neighbors tree in his back yard.

He had it all cleaned up before I got home from work.  He’s a workhorse.  And now we’ll have wood for the campfire next year too.  I really wish I’d have thought to take some photos down at the camper.  The door off the back of the camper really takes the cake.  I’m hoping that the worst of what came through there came through while we were still there.

So here I am at work, with my lifeline to the world.  And I’m actually pretty glad to be here.  At least I can blog hop, read the forums and keep in touch.  Keep in mind that if you have a Blogger or some wordpress blogs that I am reading them, I just can’t leave comments.  I’m sorry bout that.

Take care and be good to one another!

Have you met Ike????

Wow! Mother Nature sure can pack a punch. Who knew that we could feel the fury of Ike here in Southern Central Ohio? Of course, it’s nothing compared to what happened along the Texas/Louisana coastline and into the Southern states. We were at the camper yesterday when a High Wind Advisory came accross but decided that we wanted to watch the Nascar race. We kept having intermittet power outages, which were more annoying that anything because we had to reset the satalite each time. About half way through the race, the wind started shaking the camper. There was a lot of wind damage down at the camper. One of our friends had the back door to the camper ripped off and another lost their shed. Trees down and lots of branches everywhere. Shannon didn’t think it safe to be driving my little Ford Focus in that type of wind. Until the power went out and he talked with someone back in Columbus. They he was a man on a mission and that mission was to get home. There were 2 different spots on the usual way home blocked by trees down. As we got closer to Columbus, there were trees down everywhere and it was obvious that the power was out in most places. Street lights out and while most people would treat that as a 4 way stop, it’s not a common practice here in Ohio. But I’ve said on more than 1 occasion that people can’t drive here. I started to really freak out as we got closer to the house. I swear I was holding my breath as we pulled up. Both trees still standing?…a whosh came out of me. My house was still intact. A sigh of relief. My neighbor had 2 of his trees snap but it hit nothing. I went to go look at it and I saw the gazebo that holds our non working hottub no longer has it’s roof. It’s scattered all over the backyard. No worries. We don’t have power either, so I felt a little cut off from everyone. At least it wasn’t scorchingly hot and we were able to sleep with the windows open. I listened to the recording from the power company this morning. They quit taking calls and just posted messages. I figured that they wouldn’t get started on restoring power until after the winds stopped late last night. The message said 8 PM……on the 17th. UGH. Then I figured it’d be out at work and I’d have to sit for 9 hours in the dark, without my computer. Never was I so glad to have power and be able to work. It doesn’t even look like it ever went out here. And it’s only 6 miles away. There are 260,000 people without power in the Greater Columbus area and some places they’re saying a week. The McDonalds that I usually go to was out of power and the other one on the way to work had it’s drive thru line out to the main road. I’m glad I had a few pop tarts at work.

I took some photos, but left my camera at home. Go figure. In my minor inconvience, I pause to think about those truly affected by Ike. And I know that I’m truly lucky to not have to live through the Hell they are facing. The storm may have been hard, but I think the clean up is going to be much harder. Stop and say a prayer for those affected.

Yeah, my Buckeyes lost Saturday night. BIG time. I won’t talk about it.

I have to go and get caught up on everything scrap related so I’ll sign off. Hope that everyone is safe. Have a great day!
