Even though I doubt you could consider Sandusky Ohio the wilds, the Kalahari Waterpark there definately is a wild time. It has a great African theme running throughout the hotel and waterpark, including the most amazing mural along the walls that is very visable during the ride down the lazy river. We had a horrible experience at the waterpark here in Columbus in March but this one was 1000% percent better experience all the way around. Very customer service oriented. 2 surfing areas, over 12 slides, a wave pool and an outdoor area that had a wonderful area for kids (much more fun than the one indoors for them). The food was great too. They have 2 other locations, one in Virginia and one in Wisconsin. I highly recommend them. Photos tomorrow.
Having not gone up that way since I moved to Ohio, I really had no clue how I was getting there. It’s much easier to get there from where I used to live in Detroit. I’ve gone to Cedar Point many times in my younger days (and was amazed to realize it’s been 15 yrs since I last went). I found out that my printer was out of ink when I went to print off my mapquest/MSN directions. So I wrote it down, well the street names. (not the miles/ distance). On the way up I missed a turn somewhere. It was a beautiful drive, through hills and farmland. There’s quite a bit of Amish in the area and had to pass more than 1 buggy. I hit the State Route I was supposed to be on if I hadn’t have missed a turn. So I decided that I would go ahead and follow that. Unlike any man I know, I figured I’d stop for directions, just to make sure. I kept passing homes and farms, thinking I’d hit a gas station sooner or later. But I kept on driving and driving. Well, I figured that since I’ve gone about 20 miles from my original turn that if I didn’t find out soon then I’d definately be headed in the wrong direction. Finally a business. Looked like a flea market type store. There was 1 car in the parking lot and in it an old man was sleeping. I put the car into park, grabbed the keys and locked the door. I walked into the store and it was definately a flea market type - stuff was everywhere on tables and on floors. But it was really dark. And there standing as a person - with white hair and a faint mustach, shuffling towards me. At first I couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman. Nervously I say that Im heading towards Sandusky and missed a turn, am I headed in the right direction. Well she said that she wasn’t any good with directions, I should ask him. There was a man sitting up in a little alcove area. That meant I had to walk in a little further so I wasn’t yelling my question at him. Ok, by now EVERY horror movie I’ve ever seen is flashing through my head. He tells me that I am indeed on the right road to get where I need to be. I thank them and back out of the store, and almost run to my car. She follows me out. Now my doors automatically lock once my car drives a few feet. I’m digging for my cell phone, only to find the one area in Ohio that AT & T doesn’t service. I look in the mirror as I’m turning left (at a pretty good rate of speed) to see that she was going to check on the old guy in the car. It’s really funny how your mind can take over without the slightest bit of provocation. Every horror story. And they were probablly the sweetest people I never met.
Well anyway I need to get this finished so I can go catch up on everyone else’s life. I hope to have photos tomorrow.

Back in town for the night from the camper. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. The weather cooperated pretty much and it was gorgeous most all of the weekend. I threw horseshoes both days. Saturday was a tad be better, came in fourth but alas, no money for fourth. Sunday was 2 and out. But I’m getting better and if I weren’t so darn competitive, I’d be having fun. So tonight it’s sleep in my own bed, get caught up on all my computer stuff and then tomorrow I’m off for the Kalahari. Resort that is. Meeting my brother and his family at a water park. It’s just for tomorrow and Tuesday morning, but any chance I get to see the kids is pure bliss for me. I’ll be back Tuesday to catch up with everyone again.
Just a reminder or to let you know about a special charity kit I’m involved with. Here is a preview of the papers I made. If you’re not familiar with what is going on, you can read a little bit about it here on Kim B’s blog.

All of the proceeds from this paper pack are going directly to Jazz. You can pick it and others up at CraftyScraps for just $1.50. It’s number 9 just incase you don’t recoginze the repackaging. Please take a look at the other terrific kits that such wonderful designers such as Kim B and Wenchd Graphix did to help out Jazz.
Here’s my freebie for the next few days.

. As always, please no hotlinking. Direct your friends to my blog so they can pick it up themselves. If you should happen to make anything with my papers, I would LOVE to see it. Please link me up and I’ll leave some lovin.
Have a wonderful Monday everyone. See ya all on Wednesday.

A quick note here. If you read KimB’s blog or are a member of DSO, you probablly already are aware of who Jazz (Linda) is and the tragedy that she’s faced in the past few months. DSO had an awesome sale as a benefit for her and when Da Wench let us know about another site working on a charity kit, I jumped to help. That’s what I love about the digiworld. How quickly and completely we stick together in times of need. Take a look at my small attempt to help out a fellow scrapper.

I’m off to the camper for the weekend and then on Monday going to see the kids at a water park. I’ll check in on everyone on Sunday night. Have a wonderful weekend.

This will most likely be a short post today. Without going into too much detail, I need to ask for prayers for my SIL. She may get some news today that can change lives. We’ll know more after the ultrasound. But thank you for offering the family up.
I’m posting on Tuesday night. Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I get to go and get my boobs smashed. Yea! But ladies, remember that your yearly mamagram (if you’re lucky enough to be old enough) may just save your life. Ok my monthly PSA is done.
Here’s the freebie for today. Guess what, it’s another paper pack. bwahahahaha

Have a great day!

The Twilight Saga that is? It’s about a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire and her best friend is a werewolf, sworn enemy of her boyfriend. Sounds like a horrible plot for a book, let alone a series of books. But I’ll admit, it’s a love story first and foremost. And who doesn’t love a love story? Right now there are 3 books out and the 4th is coming out August 2; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and coming soon ~Breaking Dawn. Well I ended up reading them all over the weekend. And I’m addicted. I found the first book at Walmart while looking over the new releases (and have you ever noticed how most of them aren’t new, just repackaged or new covers to old stuff?). And remembered a thread over at DST about it. So I picked it up. And devoured it. And then had to get the next one and figured might as well grab the 3rd too. And there’s gonna be a movie. But after watching the trailer, don’t think I’ll rush out to see it. But here’s a picture that may make you change your mind.
How’s that for eye-candy Wench? Bwhahahaha. That’s the actor who’s supposed to play Jacob in the second and third movie. (the character grows up a little -
) Anyway, if you read and you like romance and light reading. This is a pretty good series, even if it was written for young adults.
And that brings me to my freebie for today. I’m sure that I’m the very last person in the world to find Kuler by Adobe for colors and inspirations. Well, there are some extremely talented people there and one person does a series called the Subtlety of Hue. Well he did the some from the Twilight saga and here’s my interpretation of his colors and the book.

Please if you can use any of my papers, come back and leave me a link. I’ll go leave you some love. It’s a good trade off.
I’ll have another set of papers for you tomorrow. Papers I enjoy. Elements I’m not too fond of. So let me know if it’s helpful to you to put the color swatch I use in as a preview too. I know that some people like to recolor their elements. Thanks.
Have a great day!

Well I didn’t go to the camper. Let’s just say that being stuck in a 32 ft travel trailer wasn’t in someone’s best interest. I did a lot and a lot of nothing. I think I did about 5 loads of towels. I really don’t know how on Earth I accumulated so many of them. But I know that I’m the only one who does a full load of them. Shannon just throws 2 or 3 in with his clothes. I got all my clothes washed too. So now I’ll have a full wardrobe for work this week. I went to Target (make sure you pronounce it right - Taar-gee). I picked up a new set of curtains for my front window. My wonderful dogs had pretty much destroyed the ones that were up. I’m sure it won’t take them long to get these dirty too. I also had to pick up the 2 and 3 book in the Twilight series. I grabbed the first on Friday and had it done by 11 am on Sat. (in between bouts of cleaning) The second book was done by 8 pm and the third done by 1 pm Sunday. Light reading but very addictive. Book 4 comes out Aug 2. At least I didn’t have long to wait. So if you like romance novels that have a gothic tone and are really targeted for teenage girls, you’ll like this series. I think that more adult women are reading it nowadays. At least that’s the concensus over at DST and a thread started there about it. I also scrubbed the walls in my bathroom, the floors in my living room and mowed the front lawn. That last one about killed me. Afterwards I jumped into my clean shower. (and how come that when I’m the one who scrubs it down that I’m never the first one to use it? until today that is) and slipped and bout busted my leg. I thought I was gonna pass out in the shower from the pain. The bruise is pretty big and it still hurts like hell. Guess from now on he can be the first in the clean shower. bwahahahaha. I tried a couple of times to play with papers, but nothing worked right and I gave up. For some reason I just do better at work when playing. So no new freebies, sorry.
So I was trying to decide if I should do a blog post or not. I was also checking out the comments here and on 4 shared. And look at what I got.
Trina, or as she’s known to many in the scrapping world~LadyPatFan had this for me on her blog. Now it’s my turn to spread the lovin.
RULES:
Here are the rules for the Brillante Weblog Premio 2008 Award:1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you’ve nominated.
1). Da Wench!!! Kristine is my sanity at times, my humor at others and always one of my best cyberfriends. She encourages me and makes me spit diet coke all over my work monitor. And she’s a damn great designer too. Stop by and read her blog. I guarantee she’ll make you laugh.
2). Dawn March- Is just about one of the best story tellers out there. I love reading her blog and wish that she would blog more often. She’s hysterical. Check her out here.
3) Cate - Is one of the hardest working scrappers out there. She’s extremely talented and has such awesome time management skills that I’m so in awe of her. She’s on about a zillion CT and is an all around great person. She’s been a wonderful friend since we hooked up on the blogtrain many, many moons ago.
4) Barb is another one that I found from the blog train. Like me she’s a Michigander trapped (ok that’s my word not hers) in Ohio. She takes the most fab photos and has wonderful recipes on Tuesdays. She’s on vacation this week. Somewhere warm ~which she could have stayed in Ohio, with the humity level and the temp being in the 90’s, why go to a beach. Oh right, it’s called vacation. Have fun Barb. I’m just jealous.
5) Dawne - LadyBug Graphix is another great friend who I met on the blog train. She runs a wonderful site that I need to get to more often, Digital Scrap Garden. She’s after me to sell but I know I’m not ready yet, but I truly appreciate her coments about it.
6) I have 2 for. Robin and Amanda: More friends from the blog train. Robin is my unofficial CT member who recently has been left out. I really need to remedy that. All I need is a comment and she’s back to getting everything first. :) Amanda has a terrific blog and she writes about her everyday life. It’s not really a scrapping blog and it’s not a mommy blog - it’s a REAL life blog. She tells it to ya straight, especially about her dealings in being a military wife.
7) Is a new blog to me. I found it when I found out that I could see where the trafic was coming from to my blog. Gingerscraps does a freebie list and she’s put several of mine on there as of late. It always humbles me to be put in the same catagory as some of the fine designers who she lists there. And it kinda boosts my own spirits and desire to continue playing with papers and giving out freebies. So if you like freebies and don’t wanta wade through a lot stop by and check out her lists. It’s a wonderful blog!!
So that’s my list for the award. I actually have a few more people that should have been on there but it’s late and my leg really hurts. Have a wonderful day and hopefully I’ll have a new freebie tomorrow or Wed.

Wow, it still amazes me that it’s been a year since I found the wonderful world of digiscrapping. I think I’ve run the gammut too. Well maybe not the whole thing but I feel like I’ve expanded my world. I’m very fortunate to have been on some awesome CT’s and absolutely love the one I’m currently on. I’m also fortunate that she’s so understanding and lets me run the blog instead of having required number of pages that have to be done. With my missing scrap mojo it really stresses me out to have to force a page. It’s really why I’m not on more CT’s. I got off track here. Expanding my world. That’s where I was headed. I got well wishes for my birthday from 4 different contientents and many different countries. My greatest supporter is my comicial muse and she never fails to pick me up and make me laugh. I read blogs from over 25 states and several countries that I would kill to visit. I have hundreds of people I now call friends. I’d say that this is a pretty good hobby. So now it’s my turn to give a little back. I’ve really enjoyed giving away the freebies all week. I promised a little something too. I did a random thing kinda, but since it’s my blog and my money I can choose. I picked out 2 comments that were left for me this week. 1 comment was from a first time visitor (I believe) and really touched me very much. The other comment was my 1700. It just happened to be someone who’s visited before and I frequent her blog too (although not as often lately as I should have). If it were up to me, I’d give each and every one of you something but my pocketbook (how 70’s does that sound) won’t allow it. Especially if I need to keep buying CU stuff to help me with these great designs I love to give away. So for all of you who enjoy the freebies this is for you. For those of you who enjoy my humor and wit, I’m sorry. I don’t know why you’re here. bwahaha
Here’s the freebie I did for the DSO color challenge. I don’t have a preview of the elements. They’re very similar to the ones I did for Enchanted Belle. Snag em and delete em or just grab the papers. Papers are my true love anyway. I really enjoy making those. So if you know anyone who hates to make papers but it a whiz with elements, send em my way. *grins*

Thanks so much for spending a part of your week here with me while I celebrate. Who knows, maybe I can keep up the pace with the freebies. Enjoy your weekend. I’ll be cleaning house or chopping off my hair. What a choice. bwhahahahaha

My Friday plans are up in the air, big time. So here’s another paper pack I did. It’s not the DSO color challenge one but I like it. Hope you do too. There may be one for Sat. If not have a good weekend.

And everyone should be able to have one during the summer. Of course I’m talking about Dairy Queen Blizzards. I can’t tell you the last time I had one, but I stopped and got one tonight. TV adverstising at it’s best had convinced me that I had to have one of the Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie blizzards. Since I haven’t gotten any Girl Scout Cookies the last couple of years, I thought that it was a great idea. I could become hooked, let me tell you. Two thumbs up as the famous movie critics would say.
Well I have another freebie for you today. Since I’m not doing any scrapping, I may as well give away the stuff sitting on my hard drive. If you see my mojo tell it it’s needed at home. Anyway, just papers today. I call them Jewels because they’re the same tones that I did a set for early in June called Silk Jewels. You can look back through previous posts to get those.

.
Just a reminder, tomorrow is my scrapaversary. 1 year since my first layout was posted at SBB. I have goodies for tomorrow too. My DSO color challenge. Also next week I will pick 2 random commenters for the week and will give away either a $5 GC to SBB or a $5 GC to Studio Flergs. So leave me some lovin and stop by tomorrow too.
