I thought I found it

My missing mojo that is.  I’m having an terrible time trying to scrap.  I’ve got a hundred photos and I can’t seem to make any of them work.  I did play around with some today, but got fustrated and set them aside.  I did manage to get through 2 of them.  The first one is too simple.  2 papers and an alpha.  Heck I even cheated on the extraction.  It made me try something different for the second one.  What do you think?

I see all of these beautiful pages in different galleries with the clusters and groupings of elements like flowers.  I for the life of me can’t figure out how to do it to make it look “right”.  This page looks way too busy.  But at least I got to use some elements that I’ve not gotten to use yet, lol.  That’s it, find the good side of this.

I also now have some new photos to play with too.  I went to see my cousin and her son.  I haven’t seen them in like 6 months and boy do kids grow fast.  He’s huge and such a sweetie.  Now I can use Kristine’s Bat Boo kit that I just adore so much.  So hopefully that will help find this mojo.  I’ve been scoping out challenges at different sites.  Maybe it’s time to go back to templates.  And it doesn’t make me feel any better to know that there seems to be quite a few of us with mojo’s on vacation.  I hope they at least get us some good photos.

 Have a great day.

A little something

As I have not gotten any pages done lately. (Anyone seen my scrapping mojo?) Here is a mini kit I did.  Link expired.

There are 6 papers, 4 bows and 2 frames.  Enjoy!

Maybe I’ll find my scrap mojo and my blogging mojo soon.  Until then, there’s not much to say so I’ll just say have a great day.

Summer Solstice or the longest day of the year

Well, at least here in the northern hemisphere it’s officially Summer.  Or will be at 7:59 tonight.  I guess that means it’s the shortest day of the year to those down under.  That would take some getting used to, the seasons being different.  Well either way, enjoy your day.

We’re heading down to the camper this weekend.  It’s been 3 weeks since we’ve been there due to family obligations.  I can only imagine what the grass looks like.  This weekend is the “odd couple” tournament down at the horseshoe pit.  It’s the only time you get to pick your partner.  Since I just started throwing, I don’t have a partner.  It seems that the guys ask a few years in advance.  But since there are always more guys than girls, everyone thinks I won’t have a problem finding a partner.  Shannon doesn’t have one either, but because you can’t pick your spouse or significant other, he may not get to throw.  He’s been doing pretty well lately too.  I think we’re both hedging on trying for most improved this year.  It’s been a couples thing for the past 2 years so why ruin tradition.  Anyway, I did this layout for the photography challenge over at Live Out Loud Scraps.  We had to take a picture of an inanimate object and then scrap it.  It was either this or the fish and chips from my birthday dinner.

Woo Hoo!!! I was just over at DST and found out that I won this awesomely beautiful kit from the extrememly talented Lindsay Jane.  I’m so doing the happy dance here.  Check it out.  What a wonderful way to start off the first day of Summer.  Now I gotta go to the beach.

So everyone have a wonderful weekend.  Hope the weather cooperates for you.  Please remember those along the Mississippi river who are facing hardship right now with the flooding.  It can’t be easy for them to go through this again.

Photos

photos from the weekend.

This is Emmajean the Drama Queen.

This is one of the professional photos taken, (obviously).  They also did the color treatment on it.  She said what the program she used was, but it wasn’t one I’d heard of so I didn’t pay enough attention.  I love this picture of Addi though.

  This was her

clown cake.  All three of the kids had this cake for their first birthday.  Em made a huge mess of hers a few years ago.  Their Mom said that Josh was a bit more refined on his, but I’m sure that he was wearing it all over his face too.

Here she is loving her cake.

Amazingly enough, she didn’t get it in her hair like Em did.  But she sure had it spread out over both hands and her face pretty good.

The lighting isn’t the greatest on this one.  It’s her hand full of cake/frosting.

Josh with his “Beatles” hair.  I certainly don’t remember the style from my day, but I know it’s the “in” look now.  Personally, I’d make him cut it, but since he’s not my kid………

This is my father’s day card for my brother.  Since my Dad is gone, he’s the best day I know.  Never in a million years when we were kids would I ever have thought he’d be such a terrific dad.  He’s awesome with the girls and pretty patient with the 13 yr old.  Papers by Birgit Kerr, frames & butterfly by Flergs and star border by Melissa Bennett Tagged from the grab bag with her and Micheline Martin.

I have a million more but I really hate having to upload them into photobucket to show them to you.  I may just have to switch back to my blogger blog for a while.  Who knows.

Sooooo there you go, my weekend in a very short pictorial.  Thanks for stopping by.

It’s been awhile

I’m back…………………. Well I was back on Sunday night, but trying to get caught up on things, deal with spoiled dogs and a whiny man. I still have photos on my camera that need to be uploaded somewhere and all the ones my brother took are on my laptop still. So no photos yet. Sorry. Had a wonderful time though. All the kids are growing like weeds. Josh is a total typical teenage. The only time I could get him to chat was when I let him beat me at Wii (my first time playing it) or when we were dueling on Guitar Hero ( he ridicules me for playing on easy, when he’s almost got the hard level mastered. While he’s sullen with all the adults, he’s still awesome with his sisters. Both girls adore him. Emily is a 3 year old drama queen. God help us if she doesn’t outgrow it. She’s very independent and while she thinks she can do everything herself, still wants someone right there every step of the way. She was very excited that Aunt Diane was there. And my little 1 yr old, Addi is just the sweetest tempered baby. Very little rattles her. We took her and Em to get Addi’s 1 year photo done. They are adorable. I don’t know if the company My Photographer is just a Michigan based studio, but I highly recommend them if you have one in your area.

Why is it that men are such babies? Shannon had 2 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Enough said. bwahahaha

Now for some scrapbook stuff. I’ve got a few new kits that I really want to call attention too. Kristine of Wenchd Grafix has this awesome new boys kit in her store. It’s called Bat Boo and is named after the son of one of her CT members. It is a space kit and has the most adorable little alien in it. I’m looking forward to getting some photos of the little guys at the campground this weekend so I can use it. Take a look.

See the alien cutie. You can pick this up here and check out Da Wench’s other great stuff. She’s very underrated.

Heather has a beautiful new collab kit in the store. It’s called Strawberry Mint Chip. She worked with Robin Gough on this one. Truly gorgeous. It’s available at her store. Take a look.

And if you purchase it this week, you get a free bracket album.

And we’re running a challenge over at the CT blog. I’ll have a new post later today with more details, but in a nutshell, link your layout made using this kit to the CT blog. Everyone who participates will get a $5 GC to Heather’s store (collabs & CU excluded) and 1 lucky scrapper will get a $15 GC. Easy peasy.

I can’t believe that this month is already half over. Where is the time going??? Well I’m off to the shower so I can go to work to scrap. lol. Have a great day all. I’ll be hitting the blogs at work and then back to leave comments tonight.

Grad weekend

And was it hot!!!  It started Friday night with an outdoor grad party.  That was a lot of fun for everyone.  I gave Adrienne and Kalee their friendship book.  They both really loved it and all their friends thought it was pretty cool.  Of course, that made me feel good about it.  I of course, can see all the imperfections but I’m learning not to point them out.  Here’s a picture of the 2 grads.

The actual graduation ceremony was Sunday night.  They attended a small Christian school so it was held at a church.  Thank God for air conditioning, especially since mine in my car seems to not be working correctly.  Yikes.  Gotta get that fixed before I go up to Detroit on Wed.  Anyway, I forgot.  Yep, I forgot my camera.  So no immediate photos from the ceremony.  It was nice and everyone is quite happy it’s over.  Of course, I got all sentimental in remembering my own graduation.  I was the last one to walk across the stage and I blew everyone a big Dating game kiss.  It was quite humerous.  Well, at least to me and my friends.  And to tell you how old I am, after the family thing was over (and we did that quick) and stopping by a few parties, the majority of the night was spent partying at the Drive In.  We hopped from one car to the other just hanging out with everyone.  Heck, I don’t think that there are too many Drive In’s anymore.  When I told Shannon’s niece that story she thought that Drive In’s disappeared 30 years ago.  Close I told her, but not that long ago. lol.

I did get a chance to play with some new papers.  I’m obsessed with papers now.  I’d say that for every 1 I share, at least 4 end up in my recycle bin.  But I’m pretty happy with how these turned out.  Take a look.

There’s 8 papers altogether.

It’s a short week for me this week.  I leave for Detroit on Wednesday night.  I may have one more paper pack for you before then.  And hopefully after I get back, I’ll have lots and lots of great photos to scrap and I can find my scrapping mojo.  I wonder if it’s still hanging out with Da Wenches mojo sipping margaritas?

Happy Monday all! (doesn’t that just sound sickening???)

Hockeytown is happy

As well they should be.  A big shout out to my hometown hockey heroes, the Detroit Red Wings for bringing home their 11th Stanley Cup, their 4th in the last 11 years.

How I miss the excitement of hockey season.  Especially playoff time.  There used to be a day when I could sit and watch an entire game, glued to the tv the whole time.  The announcer said that there were 5 players that were on all 4 of the past winners, but I can only name 4.  My nephew can probablly tell you the stats on the entire team.  Congrats gentlemen and all you hockeytown fans.

Have you been over to check out the color challenge at DSO that Kim B does every month.  It’s a lot of fun and fun to see what scrappers come up with.  It seems that more and more are doing kits or papers than pages.  That’s good for you, because that means you get more freebies.

And here’s a larger preview of half/most the papers.

Please let me know if you are able to use them, link me back a layout so I can leave some lovin.

My scrappin mojo is sitting somewhere drinking margaritas with da Wenches mojo.  I havent’ been able to scrap a thing since my fight with Shutterfly to get the cover done for the book.  BTW did I tell you that I got that in the mail on Monday.  I ordered it on Thursday and was considering paying for the express delivery.  Good thing I’m cheap, I’d have been really ticked off if I had paid an extra $20 for delivery.

Today is my niece’s first birthday.  I’m missing it.  But the party will be next weekend, and I’ll be there.  It also would have been my parents 43rd anniversary.  If you have a minute, remember my mom in your prayers today.  It’s still difficult for her since we lost my dad.  Thank you.

 Have a great day!

Thunderboomers

And thankfully they have been nothing but noise where I live.  With all the footage of the devastation that storms have caused in the last few weeks, I’ve decided that these storms are worth watching.  There used to be a day when I loved a good thunderstorm.  Now I just worry too much.  The line of storms last night stretched from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania, right along the I-70 corridor.  When they broke into regularly scheduled tv programing last night for the warnings that were well south of where I live, I then had to worry about the camper.  The main storms were either just West or South of where we keep it.  Fortunately there have been no reported damage from that area and we just need to ride the tornado watch out til 11 am.  Next comes the heat- 90 degrees.  So much better than snow!!!!!

Heather has a new grab bag out.  For only $2 you get a Bundle of Scraps.

There is a lot of cool stuff in this bundle.  Stop by the store and pick it up.  You can’t beat the price.  And don’t forget about the June CT challenge.  A chance to win a $20 gc from Heather’s store just for scrapping your dad, your kid’s dad or your dad in law.  Check it out here.

Have a wonderful day.

Hope you had a nice weekend.  Mine was nice.  The bad weather that had devistated so much of the midwest went north of us, but we still got nice storms Friday night/Saturday morning.  The video footage of the storms and havoc they caused is staggering.  So at the first crack of thunder, I was awake and on the Weather Channel immediately.  Not much info there.  Go figure.  But when the local news broke into late night tv, I figured it warrented waking up fully to see what was going on.  Severe Thunderstorms and a tornado watch.  Not something you really want to hear while in a 32 ft. travel trailer.  There were 3 known tornado touchdowns in Ohio, just all well to the north of us.  Saturday turned out to be perfect.

Heather’s CT has a new challenge starting for the month of June.

Get more info about it here.

Guess that’s about it today.  Watch for a new grab bag from Heather.  Also the color challenge over at DSO is up.  Amazing choices.  I think i’ll play with it a little bit since I don’t have any new photos to play with until mid month.

Enjoy your Monday all.
