A mixed bag of stuff

Ok, I gotta start off with some eye candy.  For those of you watching American Idol this season (and there haven’t been many) I have found what I’m looking for - David Cook!

Even if he doesn’t win (and that may be what is best for him and his career) he’ll get me to buy his album (shows my age).  Love him to pieces.

Ok, now real life.  Ugh.  As you know I’ve been working on a Shutterfly book for Shannon’s niece’s graduation.  I have about 20 pages done.  Some I really like and some are so so.  But I wanted to start playing around with them on the shutterfly site.  Well upon loading them in, I noticed that the colors look off.  So at work today I go back to the site and sure enough some of them are really, really dark.  The papers, the photos  you name it.  Seems the calibration on my laptop isn’t so hot.  Actually it’s too bright.  So basically everything I’ve scrapped for the past 2 months has been off.   Of course the pages that are really dark have been flattened so if I want to redo them, I have to do so from scratch.  Argggggg..

I’m pretty sure it’s the same in all states, but I can’t speak for other countries, but your car registration usually expires on your birthday.  That’s how it is in the state of Ohio.  Nice birthday present the state makes you buy yourself.  I of course, put it off to the last minute usually.  But thought I’d go ahead and pick them up today.  I made sure that I had a new book of checks since the BMV doesn’t take debit/credit cards.  In the state of Ohio, you have to show 2 forms of ID to do business with the BMV too.  I keep my social security card in my wallet.  It’s really about the only thing in there other than pictures.  All my credit cards and driver’s license is floating free in the side pocket of my purse.  Anyway something made me look for my social security card before I went to the BMV for lunch.  Guess what?  Don’t have the wallet.  Most likely it’s down at the camper where I ripped my purse apart looking for posion oak stuff over the weekend.  (that’s a whole nother story- ugh)  Ok don’t have what I need.  I had to order my tags and registration over the internet.  I’ll get it in 10 days.  My tags expired Thursday.

Fate is a funny thing sometimes.  I usually go to the bank for work around 11:30ish.  Today for some reason I didn’t go until noon.  Got there and they closed for the day to do some community thing.  I don’t know what it was and didn’t remember seeing a sign for it but they were closed.  As I was pulling out  of my parking spot, a car pulled in.  Wow, she looks familiar.  It turned out to be a supervisor from where I used to work.  I haven’t seen her in about a year, maybe more.  She told me that one of the ladies I worked with there, her husband had passed away on Friday and the memorial service was this evening.  So I was able to go and offer my condolences and see a few people I hadn’t seen in awhile.  Fate, it a funny thing.  A total coincendence made a difference to her at this time in her life.

Ok, another bit*h minute.  In addition to my wallet, it seems that I left my cell phone down at the camper too.  Normally that would just be a minor inconvience and I could live without it.  But my cell number is the one my family calls cuz I don’t have the answering machine hooked up to my home phone.  It’s also my only long distance.  Now I won’t get any birthday calls.  I’m not in a good place right now.

This is what you get for reading through my complaints.  Template 126.

So I have additional papers to go with the color scheme that Kristine gave me for our collab kit last week.  I kinda went a little crazy with the papers.  But now I’m not sure if I want to release them since my colors may be off.  I have to see what kind of preview I can come up with.  Check back for them tomorrow. (maybe)

Hope you all have a wonderful day.  Hope I can get to a better place too.

It’s a good thing I don’t have your phone number or I would be singing to you…badly I might add, tomorrow…..

Did you know there is a spotted dick on my blog?!

    Mwah!!

Happy Birthday! Sorry to hear about the wallet, tag and cell phone troubles, too! How nice you turned lemons into lemonade, so to speak, by being able to console an old friend. Again, Happy Birthday!

I hate the Ohio BMV! I was just there ten days ago, renewing not only my vanity tags (yeah, I’m stupid!), but my driver’s license as well. I thought it was amusing that they asked me for my license (the old one) for ID in order to write a check, so that I could get the new one. Odd.

I hope your day gets better. I have certainly had days like that. Just dream that David Cook is coming to your house to give you a much better birthday gift! Nice eye candy!

Happy birthday! Sorry you’ve had so much crap to deal with lately.

Leave it to Ohio to give you such a great birthday present. here in PA, your registration is when you buy your vehicle or buy the plates for it. Like when we moved here and did the plates for both cars all on the same day. Yeah. All of it’s due at the same time now. And they prefer you match your registration with your inspection. March is expensive around here.

Hopefully the DMV gave you a page to print out in case you get pulled over before your stickers get there. Ours at least does that much when you order online and it’s close to your expiration date.

Hope today is better for you!

That’s a great template. Thank you so much for sharing with your readers! Im sorry that you lost your wallet, you have to renew your registration on your car (we are in PA–mine doesn’t expire on my birthday, only my drivers license every couple of years) I hope you can find your wallet and get your car taken care of so you can have a great birthday tomorrow. ((hugs)) Im sorry its so crummy right now
