I hope that everyone had an awesome Mothers’ Day weekend. We had some storms on Sunday, but nothing like the devastation in OK, GA and MO. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. The fury of Mother Nature never fails to amaze me.
Not much going on in my scrapping world. I got the disc of photos for Shannon’s niece and am busy trying to put together a book for her graduation. I have about 8 pages done and I’m really only happy with 3 of them. Once again its the case of seeing it in my mind and not getting it translated right onto the screen.
If you are a designer or like me just like playing with papers, Heather Manning has a terrific CU sale going on right now. It’s a you pick it sale and you can get 3 CU items for only $8. Stop by her store and check it out.
Since I’ve got a deadline with the book I haven’t been playing lately. I do have a paper pack that is done, I just haven’t done a preview. Maybe I’ll get that done today. But I will tell you to watch for something big on Friday!!!
Are you still wondering about my title? Well, ok here goes. Last September when I was trying to clean up the jungle beside my house, I noticed that there is this vine that has attached itself to my siding. Oh, no can’t have that. So I tore at it, hacked at it and basically beat it back to the ground. About 4 days later, I had little bumps on the back of my hands and arms that itched something fierce. I thought that they were spider bites. Well since I have no willpower I scratched and scratched and opened the skin which of course made things worse. Finally I was able to go see the Dr. Nope not poison ivy but oak most likely. Got rid of it, but have a few scars still. Fast forward to beginning of May. Oh no, those dam vines are attaching to the siding again. Back to beating them to the ground. But do I think to kill them? Nope, no chemicals here. (yet) but this time I think, ok, I know that this is poison something or other so I immediately jump into the shower after I’m done. Now, if you know much about me, I love my showers HOT, HOT, HOT! Good for the muscles not for the pores. So now I’ve got poison oak on my arm. It’s in 1 little spot and I haven’t been scratching. (guess that my willpower has gotten better since I’ve quit smoking). But it looks like it’s spreading. Will most likely be calling the Dr. office today.
And you want to know about snakes huh? After I got home last night, my neighbor knocked on the door. He told me that over the weekend the ladies from Jehovah’s Witness were coming around and my pet snake was out front and scared them to death. Well, ok all that but the fact that it’s my pet it true. He said that they told him there was a huge black snake in my front flower bed. He had issues last year with them getting into his garage so he came over to kill it, but wasn’t fast enough and it slithered into a crack in the bricks. But not only was there 1 but 2 (at least). Well we were walking around the front yard and low and behold, there was one just lying around (I mean come on, snakes don’t sit). It was truly gross and comical at the same time watching this man try to kill this snake. I certainly wasn’t gonna touch it. I don’t do snakes. AT ALL! I once dated a guy with a pet boa whose cage sat on his dresser. I made him put a blanket over it before I would even go into the bedroom. Yuck! So now in addition to the chemicals I have to get to get rid of poison oak, I now have to get snakeaway too. And it’s only Tuesday.
Hope you have a great day!
