I’m back. Did ya miss me. Well I really didn’t go anywhere but crazy. lol. No actually, I’ve been working like a madwoman on this friendship book for Shannon’s niece’s graduation. It ended up being 32 pages. I had a terrible time trying to get the cover done. For whatever reason, and Shutterfly couldn’t even tell me why, the cover pages were wonky. So I had to scrap trash my original idea and start from scratch and then it took me several tries to get it looking presentible. But it’s done. What a huge weight off my shoulders. Now I’m just praying that I didn’t mess up by not going for the 2 day shipping. Since it’s so many pages and I’ve cleared most of it off my computer to make room on the hard drive, I decided not to post the pages to any galleries. If you want to take a look at it, here’s the link.
Many of you know that I’m a big LOST freak. Last night was the season finale. I can’t believe that we have to wait until January to find out what on Earth is going on. I have ten thousand new questions and only a few of the old ones were answered. That’s what I love/hate about the show. But what I love most is Sawyer. This was my Tivo moment of the night.

Actually I don’t know if this was from the actual scene. But when he walked out of the ocean without his shirt. I had taped his interview on Jimmy Kimmell and kinda figured that they didn’t kill him off (which is damn good) but my heart skipped a beat when he jumped from the helicopter into the ocean. Oh, how he loves Kate. Anyway. So many questions and so long to wait.
So I’m back to blogging, but will be at the camper this weekend so we’ll see you all on Monday. A quick reminder, I may not get to leave a comment, but I do visit all blogs from people who stop by and leave me love.
Have a terrific weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!

to all my friends here in the States and happy weekend to all my international friends. I hope that everyone gets to enjoy their weekend.
Yesterday was awesome! Thank you to everyone who stopped by or left well wishes on their blogs or over at DST. The digiscrap community is amazing!! 3 different continents and 5 different countries, that is a first for me. I also got email from so many forums, I had forgotten just how many I’ve registered at, lol.
Shannon took me out to eat last night. I’d decided a long time ago where I’d wanted to go. As we were driving there, he asked me if I wouldn’t rather go to Ruth Cris Steakhouse. I don’t know if he was actually serious but I still said no. We went to Old Bag of Nails and had the best basket of fish and chips. I took a picture of it to share with you, but left the USB cord in my computer bag at work last night. The one that we usually go to had burned down and they are in the process of rebuilding it. but we haven’t been to one of the other ones in the area (I think there are 6 total) since the fire. They have the BEST fish and chips. The fish is seriously the size of your forearm. Elbow to finger tip. They changed the menu to all you can eat of it, but seriously, I don’t know how anyone could eat more than 1 basket. Neither of us finished our own, let alone even thought of ordering another one. And in all the years we’ve been going there, I’ve only ordered 1 thing 1 time other than the fish and chips. So if you’re ever in the Columbus Ohio area and looking for awesome fish and chips, Old Bag of Nails is THE place.
My brother called me not even minutes after we got home. He put Em on the line. She’s a talker for sure but gets really excited and goes really fast sometimes. The important part and all I wanted to hear came through loud and clear. “Happy Birthday Aunt Diane”. Next year I look to hear it from Addi too. All in all, it was a terrific day.
Those of you in the Plains and upper Midwest, please stay safe this weekend. Have you seen the footage of that tornado that hit near Denver? Monstrous. I have a cousin who lives near there but I’m assuming that since I haven’t heard otherwise, she and her family are ok. Heather, I saw that it looked particularly nasty overnight near you. Hoping that you and the kids were able to sleep through that. My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone affected by all these nasty natural disasters that seem to be hitting lately.
Did you happen to catch David C on the Tonight show last night? He didn’t sing, but sat and talked with Jay for a little bit. Very well spoken and very down to Earth. I was impressed. I know he’ll do just fine. Can’t wait til he records and releases his CD. I figure it will be around Christmastime. I do know that he and David A will be on the Today show next Thursday singing. FYI
Hope that you all have an awesome weekend. Please stop by and wish Kari a Happy Birthday too. It’s this Sunday but we’re partying all weekend long just for her. (yeah that’s my story and I’m sticking too it) Maybe Dale Jr. will get a win for her birthday and make her and the rest of Jr. Nation happy.
See ya all next week!

” 525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? in daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life? How about love? Seasons of Love” From the musical Rent
Birthdays are an amazing thing. They can remind you of how much you have. Each birthday is a gift in itself.
I noticed that my posts have been increasingly negative lately. Wow, sometimes I just don’t realize how much I bitch. Anyway, thanks for sticking around and next time, slap me and tell me that life isn’t all about me. Quick story and then I gotta run. We went grocery shopping last night to get everything for the holiday weekend since Shannon’s taking me out to dinner tonight. Going through the checkout line at Walmart, the cashier (who wasn’t a punk kid but pushing 70) asked for my id when I purchased some Smirnoff Ice (Watermelon is my fave). I laughed at her, as I usually do when I get carded and asked if she was serious. She said well, you’re not over 40. I pulled out my ID and laughed and said, well you’re wrong since tomorrow is my 41st birthday. Normally getting carded pisses me off because it’s like a hassle. But this time I was actually flattered. I finish paying for my stuff and she gives me the receipt. On the bottom it says begining 4/1/08 we will card all patrons who look under 40. So much for flattery.
Ok here’s the extra papers I did when Kristine and I were working on the collab kit. I thought that the first set may have been too grungy so I went nuts and made more. Kris thought I was insane cuz she loved the first set. So if you picked up the original collab, here’s an add on paper pack.

Ok, how excited were you (those of you still watching AI) when David C. won last night? I was surprised too. Not because he wasn’t the best, but just that he actually won. I think that even though the show on Tuesday was geared towards David A, the fact that phone lines were open for 4 hours helped DC. After all, all the tweens had to be in bed and let the grown ups call their votes in. I never got through myself. Now we wait. It’ll be awhile before they release a CD for DC. lol. And I do have to admit Carrie Underwood was hot. Loved, loved, loved that dress. Even if it was a challenge for the camera man not to show us if there was anything on under it. I’d say that she’s out from under the AI control with that song. Thought the lyrics were hysterical. Anyway, enjoy the fact that my man was the winner.
Have a great day!

Ok, I gotta start off with some eye candy. For those of you watching American Idol this season (and there haven’t been many) I have found what I’m looking for - David Cook!

Even if he doesn’t win (and that may be what is best for him and his career) he’ll get me to buy his album (shows my age). Love him to pieces.
Ok, now real life. Ugh. As you know I’ve been working on a Shutterfly book for Shannon’s niece’s graduation. I have about 20 pages done. Some I really like and some are so so. But I wanted to start playing around with them on the shutterfly site. Well upon loading them in, I noticed that the colors look off. So at work today I go back to the site and sure enough some of them are really, really dark. The papers, the photos you name it. Seems the calibration on my laptop isn’t so hot. Actually it’s too bright. So basically everything I’ve scrapped for the past 2 months has been off. Of course the pages that are really dark have been flattened so if I want to redo them, I have to do so from scratch. Argggggg..
I’m pretty sure it’s the same in all states, but I can’t speak for other countries, but your car registration usually expires on your birthday. That’s how it is in the state of Ohio. Nice birthday present the state makes you buy yourself. I of course, put it off to the last minute usually. But thought I’d go ahead and pick them up today. I made sure that I had a new book of checks since the BMV doesn’t take debit/credit cards. In the state of Ohio, you have to show 2 forms of ID to do business with the BMV too. I keep my social security card in my wallet. It’s really about the only thing in there other than pictures. All my credit cards and driver’s license is floating free in the side pocket of my purse. Anyway something made me look for my social security card before I went to the BMV for lunch. Guess what? Don’t have the wallet. Most likely it’s down at the camper where I ripped my purse apart looking for posion oak stuff over the weekend. (that’s a whole nother story- ugh) Ok don’t have what I need. I had to order my tags and registration over the internet. I’ll get it in 10 days. My tags expired Thursday.
Fate is a funny thing sometimes. I usually go to the bank for work around 11:30ish. Today for some reason I didn’t go until noon. Got there and they closed for the day to do some community thing. I don’t know what it was and didn’t remember seeing a sign for it but they were closed. As I was pulling out of my parking spot, a car pulled in. Wow, she looks familiar. It turned out to be a supervisor from where I used to work. I haven’t seen her in about a year, maybe more. She told me that one of the ladies I worked with there, her husband had passed away on Friday and the memorial service was this evening. So I was able to go and offer my condolences and see a few people I hadn’t seen in awhile. Fate, it a funny thing. A total coincendence made a difference to her at this time in her life.
Ok, another bit*h minute. In addition to my wallet, it seems that I left my cell phone down at the camper too. Normally that would just be a minor inconvience and I could live without it. But my cell number is the one my family calls cuz I don’t have the answering machine hooked up to my home phone. It’s also my only long distance. Now I won’t get any birthday calls. I’m not in a good place right now.
This is what you get for reading through my complaints. Template 126.

So I have additional papers to go with the color scheme that Kristine gave me for our collab kit last week. I kinda went a little crazy with the papers. But now I’m not sure if I want to release them since my colors may be off. I have to see what kind of preview I can come up with. Check back for them tomorrow. (maybe)
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Hope I can get to a better place too.

I have a new template for you. I was stuck on the friendship book so I took some time to work on something to give away. Thought maybe Karma would help me a little on the remaining layouts. It might have worked. I was able to get a few more done and am loading them into Shutterfly as we speak. I don’t have a good preview for the one I did with this template but I’ll work on it. Hope you enjoy this template. As always, I’d love to see any pages done, so drop me a link.

I’ll have another template for you tomorrow and maybe more papers for my birthday.
Enjoy your day!

Am I the only one wondering where in the heck May has gone too? I can’t believe it’s half over already. Did I blink? Remember when you were a kid and it seemed like it was the LONGEST month ever…… well it always seems to take forever for my birthday to get here and then even longer for school to let out. I can’t say that I agree with the addage, “Time flies when you’re having fun” cuz I’m not so sure I am but time is flying by!
I didn’t really talk this up as much as I should have. Of course to be able to talk something up, one must actually blog. And we all know that I’ve been lacking a little in that area lately. I do have a few more pages done for the friendship book, but I regress. As some of you know, I’ve been playing around with templates and papers lately. Well somehow I convinced Kristine (Da Wench) to do a kit with me. A collab as they call it. Well, she did ALL the hard work. She did all the elements and all the previews. She also gave me the colors. All I did was have fun. And fun I did. There are 15 papers in this kit. 5 different colors - 3 different designs. I do want to say that I didn’t just recolor. Anyway…. I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to Kristine. Not only does she encourage my folly, but she sends me the best damn jokes out there. I’ve finally learned not to read her emails with diet coke in my mouth. Now you can get the papers here. But you have to go to Wenchd Grafix to get the most important and best part of this collab kit.
Look here’s what you’re getting:
This is what everything together looks like.
Da Wench’s awesome ellies!!!
And Thanks for making my papers look so good in the previews too Kris!!!
Get Da Wench’s here if you haven’t already opened the window I gave you earlier.
Ohhhh wow, I don’t think I can wait 2 weeks for LOST season finale. I thought it was supposed to be next week. But that’s good that it’s not, now I can go to dinner and not worry about missing it. While I may not agree with where it’s going, it’s been a hellva ride getting there. I’m so saddened by what looks like a goodbye kiss between Kate & Sawyer. And I’m not so happy that they left him behind, his idea or not. 2 weeks is gonna be a long time. Oh and any Grey’s fans out there. I’m so over the Mer./Der. storyline but I am loving the little subplots with this brain tumor trial. How much did you cry when Andre showed up?
Well, another Friday has come. I’m supposed to go to the camper again this weekend but the old man is really ticking me off. Not sure what I’m gonna do. But I hope that you have an absolutely awesome weekend. Enjoy the freebie and don’t forget to stop by da Wench’s.

So I’ve been trying to work on this book for Shannon’s niece for graduation. His sister gave me a disc with about 150 photos of her and her best friend through the years, but most of them are recent. (thanks to digital photography). Since they were on a disc there’s not a lot of info about the stories behind the photos. The where, why and when stuff. So I decided to take a different approach on the book and make it a quote book. I surfed the main quote sites for stuff on friendship. The old tried and true and incrediablly boring quotes by Aristole and Shakesphere and others that have been dead for centuries. Actually there are a lot of great quotes out there but not really suitable for 17 yr old girls. I decided to do another search yesterday and found quite the unexpected spot for great, age appropriate quotes - MySpace avatars and dohickeys that the kids put on their pages. Now it’s really funny cuz one holiday Adrienne and I were looking at her Facebook page and talking about the different ones. So I think that may help me some with the more current photos. Now I’m still having issues with the design aspect of the pages, but hopefully that too will pass. Here’s a few of the pages I did already.
I loved Mary Fran’s Tattered Frannies and thought it was perfect for these photos.
The majority of this page is from Birgit Kerr’s Well Worn, the film strip is by Joanne Brisbois and the background paper is Bren Boone. The photos had a cooper treatment on them to begin with so I thought that this would be a great way to showcase them.
This was the first page I did and will be the last page in the book. The photo speaks volumes about high school friendships. Remember how you all swore that you’d be friends until the end of time……

Thanks to everyone for your comments yesterday about my new pet snakes. We’re still trying to decide if we want to go with the cheaper treatment that most likely won’t be too effective in getting rid of them or the more expensive way. There’s about a $60 difference in price so it’s a big decision. And the posion oak is begining to get to me, it really itches. I didn’t want to have to go see the Dr. for it but I just may have to.
Off to work. Just a reminder, I can’t leave comments at work for blogger and some wordpress blogs. I do make every attempt to read them and then when I get home go back and leave a message. Just wanted you to know so you don’t think I’m ignoring you. Have a great day all!

I hope that everyone had an awesome Mothers’ Day weekend. We had some storms on Sunday, but nothing like the devastation in OK, GA and MO. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. The fury of Mother Nature never fails to amaze me.
Not much going on in my scrapping world. I got the disc of photos for Shannon’s niece and am busy trying to put together a book for her graduation. I have about 8 pages done and I’m really only happy with 3 of them. Once again its the case of seeing it in my mind and not getting it translated right onto the screen.
If you are a designer or like me just like playing with papers, Heather Manning has a terrific CU sale going on right now. It’s a you pick it sale and you can get 3 CU items for only $8. Stop by her store and check it out.
Since I’ve got a deadline with the book I haven’t been playing lately. I do have a paper pack that is done, I just haven’t done a preview. Maybe I’ll get that done today. But I will tell you to watch for something big on Friday!!!
Are you still wondering about my title? Well, ok here goes. Last September when I was trying to clean up the jungle beside my house, I noticed that there is this vine that has attached itself to my siding. Oh, no can’t have that. So I tore at it, hacked at it and basically beat it back to the ground. About 4 days later, I had little bumps on the back of my hands and arms that itched something fierce. I thought that they were spider bites. Well since I have no willpower I scratched and scratched and opened the skin which of course made things worse. Finally I was able to go see the Dr. Nope not poison ivy but oak most likely. Got rid of it, but have a few scars still. Fast forward to beginning of May. Oh no, those dam vines are attaching to the siding again. Back to beating them to the ground. But do I think to kill them? Nope, no chemicals here. (yet) but this time I think, ok, I know that this is poison something or other so I immediately jump into the shower after I’m done. Now, if you know much about me, I love my showers HOT, HOT, HOT! Good for the muscles not for the pores. So now I’ve got poison oak on my arm. It’s in 1 little spot and I haven’t been scratching. (guess that my willpower has gotten better since I’ve quit smoking). But it looks like it’s spreading. Will most likely be calling the Dr. office today.
And you want to know about snakes huh? After I got home last night, my neighbor knocked on the door. He told me that over the weekend the ladies from Jehovah’s Witness were coming around and my pet snake was out front and scared them to death. Well, ok all that but the fact that it’s my pet it true. He said that they told him there was a huge black snake in my front flower bed. He had issues last year with them getting into his garage so he came over to kill it, but wasn’t fast enough and it slithered into a crack in the bricks. But not only was there 1 but 2 (at least). Well we were walking around the front yard and low and behold, there was one just lying around (I mean come on, snakes don’t sit). It was truly gross and comical at the same time watching this man try to kill this snake. I certainly wasn’t gonna touch it. I don’t do snakes. AT ALL! I once dated a guy with a pet boa whose cage sat on his dresser. I made him put a blanket over it before I would even go into the bedroom. Yuck! So now in addition to the chemicals I have to get to get rid of poison oak, I now have to get snakeaway too. And it’s only Tuesday.
Hope you have a great day!

I’ve created a monster. Well in myself that is. I’m having a blast creating papers. So I guess that my craziness is your gain. I don’t know if they can be used or not. So if you should happen to find a use for them, stop back by or better yet send me an email at carjaziscrap “at” gmail “com”. I’d love to see anything that has been done. Here’s some more that match the color scheme that was given out in the color challenge over at DSO by Kim B. (Love ya girlie!)
Enjoy your weekend, I’m off to the camper.
