The weekend started off gorgeous. The weather Friday was perfect and we had a terrific night down at the camper. We got up and had Texas French Toast and tossed the shoes around a little. Then it started to rain. There’s something quite soothing about the sound of raindrops hitting the roof. While we might have been trapped in a 32 foot travel trailer, it wasn’t such a bad thing. I was able to get several pages done for the water park book. They’re still on the laptop, so you don’t get to see them right now. Maybe when I get the whole book done.
So did you figure out my title? I got a phone call from my cousin Kate on Saturday night. She wondered what we were doing on Sunday night. Her anniversary is this week and her DH had picked up this great surprise. But her best friend is having a baby shower at her house next weekend and she has a hundred thousand things to do. Bummer dude. Personally, I think a terrific anniversay gift is always worth more than a friendship, but that may be why all my friends are either online or 200 miles away. So anyway, she called me and said “Dude” cuz that’s what she calls me, ” Do you want my Billy Joel tickets that DH got for our anniversary?” I’m like “Dude” cuz that’s what I call her back, “you’re crazy, go to that show!” But she wouldn’t and we did. Now I haven’t been to a concert in several years. When did cell phones replace lighters for oncores? It was really amazing that when he and the piano came up through the floor, the main floor was totally lit up by cell phones. I’m also trying to figure out when I got to be old. I’d say that the average age at this concert was 47. And I fit right in. But just for the record, I’m only 40. Anyway, it wasn’t a bad concert, wasn’t the greatest I’ve ever seen either. He did most of his standards, but there were a few that he left out that I’d really like to have heard like Honesty, The Night is Still Young, Uptown Girl (I doubt that Katie let’s him play that one anymore) and my favorite Lullabye, which you can see here. I’d say that the main show was the couple in the area in front of us that wouldn’t sit down and were playing touchy feely throughout. I guess they didn’t realize that there were people behind them who thought they looked totally stupid groping each other to an old man playing songs that were popular before they were born. Anyway, it’s been a long time since we had a “date night” and it was a nice time. They were great seats too. Now I need to come up with a great anniversary gift for them.
Anyway, that’s how my weekend went. Hope your’s was terrific. Working on a little something for NSD with Heather and her girls. Stop back by, we’ll be dropping a little clue this week.
