Wow, was last night a crowded tv night? Amazing weight loss, a diva and testosterone overload all in 1 night. It was wonderful to see a woman win the Biggest Loser for a change. The amazing Ali won with an outstanding transformation. If you don’t watch the show but want to see the before and after got to nbc.com. It’s really inspirational. I wish I could afford to be gone from home/work for 3 months. I’d put in an audition tape in a heartbeat. I tivo’d American Idol and haven’t watched it yet. Not a big Mariah Carey fan. According to the DST boards though, my man David Cook pulled it out. And there were 2 episodes for the season premier of Deadliest Catch. When I was setting the tivo I noticed that there was what looked to be a new epi right after the premier, so I set the tivo to record both. Good thing. I only managed to watch the first one. My heart sunk with the drama of the first few minutes. That’s what I love about the show. It may seem like a boring subject, but you get to know these guys a little and knowing that something deadly can happen at any time, gets your adrenaline pumping.
Ok, now you know why I want to go be on Biggest Loser. Too much couch potato. So lets get to scrapping stuff. There’s a challenge over at SBB which I’m really learning to love. It’s called Try Something New and Raylene finds stuff to challenge our skills. This week it was all about Virtual Photographer. It’s a photo enhancing filter program. It’s awesome. I need to learn to play with it more. If you don’t have it and run anything other than a mac, go to the forums at SBB to get the link. Here’s a page I did with the VP filter on the stock photo and some of Lindsay Jane’s butterflies and Flergs flowers. I can’t wait to play with it more. (sorry bout the size, it’s either really BIG or really small with wordpress.)
Ok, on to the contest I have for you today. You may remember last week I did a PSA for Autism Awareness month and Sherrie over at Pixel Gypsy Designs who has designed a gorgeous kit for people who make a contribution to Helping Hands through her website. Well she had her own contest and guess who won? Yep, me. So I’m trying to help her spread the word not only about her special kit but also the cause. My family has been blessed that we have not been touched by this disease, but with another new one on the way and then even my cousin’s kids starting the next generation, you never know. So I am offering a part of my gift certificate to one of my lucky readers. There is a $10 gc up for grabs here. I’m gonna make you work a little to be entered though. I want you to go to this website, National Autism Association. (link opens in new window) and then in the comments section give me the link to any additional resource site listed on the site. Please try to find a link not already given (don’t just copy the one from above I mean). In addition to giving away this GC I’m also trying to educate. 1 in 150 children will be diagnosed this year. Staggering. So once again, open link, get new link, leave comment. Easy peasy. I’ll run random number generator for everyone who follows the directions.
Ok, hope that everyone has a great day. Off to get ready for another wonderful day at work. It’s gonna be warm and sunny here. May you have the same beautiful weather wherever you are.
