Ok, it’s been well documented that I watch entirely too much tv.  Last night was no exception.  It all started with Idol, which was horrible.  I’m beginning to think that they are trying to sabotage the show.  I’m come on now, who under 50 listens to Neil Diamond?  I’m 40 and remember hearing his stuff as a kid and not really liking it.  No wonder the ratings are down, with the choice of mentors are you surprised?  But wasn’t Paula hysterical?  It just goes to prove that she is messed up on something for those shows.  How could she be giving out critique on the second song when it hadn’t been sung yet.  Truly a tv moment.  If you missed it, I’m sure it will be all over the net/tv/entertainment shows.  At least David Cook was good.   After Idol is Deadliest Catch.  It’s on the Discovery channel and one of my can’t miss shows.  Then I caught Robin Williams on Law & Order SVU.  I love Robin Williams the comedian.  I wouldn’t want to run into him in a dark alley.  He’s very convincing as a psycho.  His character got away at the end so I’m hoping that it’s going to be a recurring role.  My must see tonight is on Bravo, Top Chef.  Then tomorrow is Grey’s Anatomy and LOST.  See way too much TV.

So I’ve been perusing the main list over at DST on the sales for NSD.  I’m wanting to find some new designers and try out new stuff.  But all my faves are having such great sales.  Who’s your must buy for this weekend?  I’m sure that I’ll be alternating between SBB, SBG and DST for the chats.  Don’t forget about Heather’s chat at DST at 9 pm EST.

It’s getting closer and more and more shops and forums are getting ready.  Are you ready for it?  I know that I’m trying to get my paypal account ready for it.  I have a couple of freebies planned, but I know that most of you are all about the good stuff.  I know I am.  I’ve got a list a mile long of things that I want and a list a half mile of things I need.  I wanted to let you know that Heather’s chat at DST is gonna be a 9 pm EST.  If you haven’t been to a chat at DST, it’s a blast.  But it moves incredibly fast.  I hope that you’ll join us Saturday night.

Here’s a little hint as to what where planning.  I’ll have another hint tomorrow and then the big reveal on Thursday.

Guess that’s it for now.  I may have to put up the simple math question again.  I’ve been gettting a lot of spam lately.  At least it’s been all gambling sites and no porn.  Sorry to have to do that to you all.  Have a great day!

I’m sure that by now you know all about NSD on Sat.  I wanted to let you know a little bit about what is going on with Heather Manning and her CT for this terrific day.  We have what I think is a very exciting challenge.  Here’s a small hint.

In addition to the challenge that the CT is running, Heather will have a store wide sale and will be releasing 2 new kits, one of which is a collab with Dawn Inskip.  So keep an eye out for more info on the challenge.  Also we hope you’ll join us Sat. night at DST for a chat.  More details to follow.

Many of you know Cate and read her blog too.  A lifelong friend of hers sister was involved in a horrific domestic violence incident late last fall.  Teresia lost her courageous fight on Friday.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and also to Cate.  A life cut too short and many more lives affected forever.  Kristine did a couple of layouts in her honor and I wanted to share them with you also.  Please stop by Cate’s blog and give her a little extra support.

Much thanks to Kristine for including me in her tribute.  May Teresia rest in peace and may her family know that she is forever watching over them.

 Life is short, remember to tell those you love how much you love them.

Well, I’m off to the camper for the weekend.  Hopefully the weather will hold out.  I haven’t had a whole lot of scrapping stuff to say lately, just the templates and such.  Hopefully I’ll get over my writers block with a little relaxation for the weekend.  I had a request for template 118.  A lot of times what I do when Im working on templates is do a bunch, give them numbers and put up the ones I really like.  Now 118 is ok.  But I don’t have a preview for it.  It’s a 12 X 12 template in PSD format.  If digifree picks it up, it’ll be one of those unknown freebies or a picture of my horseshoes.  Take a chance I say. 

Enjoy the photo of my horseshoes.  I’m hoping to get some more practice in this weekend.

This was sent to me by my Aunt in one of those forward it to all your friends email.  I can’t think of a better way to forward than to put it here.  Food for thought. 

Old Age, I decided, is a gift.

I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometimes despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who looks like my mother!), but I don’t agonize over those things for long.

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I’ve aged, I’ve become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I’ve become my own friend.

I don’t chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn’t need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70’s, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love … I will. I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody’s beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don’t question myself anymore.. I’ve even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free.. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day. (If I feel like it)
