November 1st - only 55 more days

Say it isn’t so….Christmas will be here before we know it. I actually bought my first Christmas gift yesterday. Shhhhh. don’t tell BF, it’s an Ohio State shirt. hehe I get him at least 1 each year. Well it was 50% off. Can’t beat that! Especially if they keep winning.

I got to play around with Fantacy’s new kit last night. I love her stuff so much that I get really paranoid about what I turn out with it. I did 3 and this one I really liked. The other 2 will have to be tweaked. That’s my niece Addi. I’m so excited I’m going to see them this weekend. That means lots more photos to scrap. Anyway go check out Fantacy’s new kit. You can get it in papers, elements or complete kit.

Here’s a 2 page set I did for the November Theme- Family, pages over at Scrappers Daily Dose with Nov. sponsor Michelle Pieters Summer Sunset collection. The photos aren’t the greatest, but it was a good time and family is all you got sometimes. But I really enjoyed the kit and plan to do a few more pages with it.

Saturday is National Digital Scrapbooking Day. Yeah we got our own day! Now what does that mean???? SHOPPING!!!! And chats, and challenges and freebies!!!!! So I’ve compliled a list of things going on in the digi world. I won’t be at too many of them Sat. since I’m going up north to see the kids (yeah!!!) but I want you all to be there for me (shop for me too! lol)

OAKS (one of a kind scrapz) is going all out all weekend. There will be a storewide 30% off sale running Fri. - Sun. Chats and challenges too. Great prizes and lots of fun to be had.

Scrapbook-Bytes is having chats starting at 6 and running til midnight. They will have challenges and freebies too. Plus they will have great sales in their store.

Digiscrapinfo is running a contest with Kodal & ACDSee where you can win a printer or software.

Digital Freebies is having a sale, running chats and contests and some giveaways.

A Cherry on Top will be running chats and challenges from 8 am to 8 pm. And they are having a pre-party chat on Friday at 8 pm.

KB & Friends has chats going on from noon to 7 pm along with challenges.

PolkadotPotato will have challenges running with great prizes.

The DigiChick will have chats and challenges all day along with prizes given out.

Nuts4Digi will have chats and challenges- looks like they’re giving away a camera too.

Scrapbookgraphics is having an all day festival. Chats, freebies and “scrapbook tennis” (someone’s gotta tell me what this is).

PlainDigitalWrapper will have 3 promotions running Nov. 1 - 3 - Dollar Days, Calendar Creator release and a spend $10 drawing.

Scrapbook Elements is having a pizza party challenge, you have to sign up for this by Friday.

I’m sure there’s more going on. Check you favorite site to see what they’re doing and then pop into a site you’re not familiar with and do something new and different. It’s a great way to meet new friends.

No one had freebies up yet and it’s getting close to the time I need to leave for work. I have to figure out this freebie thing and how I can make it work for everyone.

Until next time, scrap happy!

Blah Tuesday

Blah, blah, blah that’s what today is. Frost on the windows, but I knew about it early enough that I ran out to warm up the car so I wouldn’t have to scrap windows. Tried to get blogger to work faster, while the car heated up. Should have known better. The car ran for 15 minutes while I tried to get the freebies for those who requested it. Now I’m on empty and the price of gas skyrocketed to almost $3.00. WHY???? The fluctuation in gas prices is the one great mystery I’ll never understand. Don’t get me started.

Here are some layouts I’ve been working on lately.

Well I asked about freebies and some of you wanted them. So here they are. If they are not up by the time I post my blog, they will be added the next day. However, the links will still take you to the blog and you can see what the have that’s new.

Tomorrow I’m working at the office up north and the computer connection there is horrible. If I have time I’m gonna try to pull together a NDSD schedule, even though I’m gonna miss it.

Until next time, scrap happy!

Monday already?????

Ugh, there was frost on the car windows this morning. Summer is offically gone. Wow, I can’t believe how the weekend flew by! And what a sad, sad weekend it was. The end of camping season is always a bummer, but I had a migrane Sat. night and didn’t really get to enjoy the last night. I did manage to get rid of it in time to watch my Buckeyes beat the pants off of Penn State. Only 3 more critical games to do. Each one will be a doozy.

I got some good news right before I left work on Friday night. I was chosen to be a part of the Scrapz Pack over at One of A Kind Scrapz. It’s gonna be a great gig, lots of fab people hanging out over there. All new challenges are coming up starting in Nov. And there are a lot of wonderful designers over there that I’m looking forward to getting to know. You’ll get to see some of them here. So now I’m stretched to my limit with my 3 CTs, Heather, Kelli & Fantacy- posting at OAKS and Scrappers Daily Dose. But I’m a happy scrapper!

Speaking of designers, I want you to be the first to get a peek at Fantacy’s newest kit!
Feral Faeries will be available at One of a Kind Scrapz soon. Keep an eye out for it. That adorable girl in the photos is her daughter, Chloe or Tink as she’s called. I’ve seen some of this kit and can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Here are 2 layouts I did with Fantacy’s Hallow-Tween and Fraidy Cat kits. These pictures were taken at the Halloween party we went to on Friday night. It was a costume party (as you can tell) but we didn’t have a chance to pull together anything good, so we went as “Happy Campers” lol. It was a lame excuse.

Congrats to Andrea (Boyerville Scraps) for getting her first designing gig. She’s selling over at Art & Scrap Designs. Click on the preview to be taken to her store.

So I’m curious. Do any of you go and download the freebies I post from here or do you go to the bigger sites and get them all at once? I’m thinking I may end up with 2 posts, one personal and the other one the list of freebies. I like to promote my friends and other designers but I wonder if there’s really a need for them with the main bloggers out there with 100s in their blog roll. I just added a blogroll to expand my listings, but now I’m thinking twice. Tell me how you feel about it. It seems that blogger is having issues this morning, so until they get it so I can upload previews, there will be no freebie list. Let me know if you miss it.
It’s freezing here! The heat was off in the office all weekend so I’ve got my little space heater cranked full blast. I’m not a good winter person. But I’m lovin the leaves and the colors they are now. The fall viewing season is in full blast here.
Until next time, scrap happy!

A Freebie from me today!

Hi there!
It’s Friday! Doing the dork dance in my chair. Finally, it’s here. Got a few layouts done last night, but can’t show them to you til the 1st. Got to chat on Hello with Cate, which was really nice. Watched the last half of Survivor and first half of Greys. Have them both Tivo’d so I won’t miss anything. Isn’t Tivo the best invention ever?? Well, maybe not ever but it’s tops in my book.

There’s a BIG night game tomorrow night in Happy Valley. We’re hoping that Penn State won’t be so happy after it’s over. So root for the #1 Buckeyes tomorrow night. Once again, it’s a test for us and we know that we control our own destiney. Ok, enough football talk, that’s not why your here anyway. lol.

Look at what Yen sent me. She is so wonderful and always gets these neat little awards. And she picked me to pass it on to (along with some other very deserving ladies!) I just love to read Yen’s blog every morning. She takes the most amazing pictures of everyday things and makes them interesting. I love to hear her stories about her DH and her little boy and of course her little peanut. Can’t wait to see her photos of her baby once he’s here! Yenny Girl, you make me smile! Thank you for that and this award. Now to pass it on. Well, I love to read a lot of blogs everyday now. I guess I would say Im totally addicted to blogs. I nominate the following ladies (in no particular order):
1.) Kristine - da Wench! She’s funny, has great info on her blog and terrific freebies. Plus I love the dork dance.
2.) Kim B - Have you read her blog lately? I swear I’m gonna end up pimp one of these days. I imagine her as the friend what would be sitting there beside you in jail saying “damn that was fun.” Even half way around the world, I can tell that this lady knows how to enjoy life. And I get that all from her blog. And her freebies are to kill for too.

3.) Cate - Cate is superwoman in my eyes. The things she gets done before 10 am amazes me. She does more in 1 morning than I do all day, no wait, all week. She’s a sweetie and becoming a good friend.

4.) Traci - She, Dawne & Nita are trying to get the Garden planted into a blooming community. I love her freebies and reading her exploits.

There are others, but Yen got them when she got me and if I list everyone, no one else will be able to pay it forward. I’d give it to everyone who blogs and who reads my blog. So consider yourself nominated for this wonderful award.

Here’s my freebie for today. A special thanks goes out to AfriDigiDiva for her RAK earlier this week. Please leave a little lovin and if you use it, let me know, I’ll feature your layout here.

Here’s the fab Friday freebies I found.

I’m off to close up the camper this weekend. I can’t believe another camping season is coming to an end. It’s gonna be a long 5 months. Enjoy your weekend.

I’m off to work, as always, I’ll check to see what freebies I missed and try to add them. I’m working on a new system to expand the freebie listings to include more. We’ll see how that goes.
Until next time, scrap happy!

A shorter post today

Good morning,

And boy did it come quickly today. I was up later than my usual last night, and didn’t sleep well the night before. Is it Friday yet? No, ok well it will be soon right? Anyway, had a great time last night at both chats. It’s always fun to get a large group of women together all typing at the same time. So many different conversations going on, it never fails that one falls into another and something hysterical comes out of it. The chat at Heather’s was flyin. We had a great time and more importantly for Heather, a good turn out. Lots of goodies were given away, including all the kits in Heathers new store. Gina, Craft Tea Lady won that grand prize. Tallula Moon, Kelli had a great turnout over at 3 Scrapateers too for the scrap a deal chat. Don’t forget, if you grabbed her Be Happy kit, get your layout posted by midnight EST to receive the second part of the kit free.

The Rak’ing continues, and I love it. Look what I got yesterday from Natalie Bird Designs. Since I was chatting all night, I didn’t get a chance to play with anything last night. I’m hoping that I’ll get a chance tonight. I have many more I need to complete and upload at SBB to complete one of the few challenges I’m trying to do this month, the page a day challenge. I didn’t have any problems the last 2 months, but this month I haven’t had as much time for some reason. Either that or I just haven’t been uploading them as I get them done.

Here’s a preview of the word art I hope to put out tomorrow. I had an issue with getting it uploaded into 4 shared and hope to get that fixed tonight. So keep an eye out for it tomorrow.
The freebie list is sparse so far. Looks like everyone is running short on time these days. As always, if I find more once I get to work, I’ll edit them in. Click on the preview to go to their blog.
Off to work, everyone have a fab day!
Until next time-scrap happy!

Chat night with the girls

Hi there!

Now you know I wouldn’t let you forget that tonight is chat night. There are 2 important chats to tell you about. The first one is at 10 pm EST at 3 Scrapateers with Kelli of Tallula Moon. It’s the Scrap a Deal chat. You can pick up the kit at a intro price of just $2.00, come get freebies at the chat, post a layout using the kit and get the second half of the kit for FREE.

See the ad? That’s made from part of this fantastic kit. After midnight tomorrow, the kit goes to full price. So take advantage of this special and grab this adorable kit. Come meet Kelli and chat with us girls.

Then at 11 pm EST at DST come to Heather Manning’s Grand Opening chat.

Look at what you get just for attending the chat. 6 Quick Pages made with Heather’s Dirt Don’t Hurt series. And don’t forget if you participate in both chats there’s a freebie from me. So show some support for these fab new designers.

Here’s my latest layout. That’s my niece Addi. Credits: Graphical Botanical paper by Kiki Halbert;Overlays by AfriDigiDiva; Frame by Sarah VanDyke; Ribbon & swirl by KimB Designs;Schones Blumen by Diamante Designs;Ribbon w/t ring by Heather Manning.

Here’s a layout done by Kristine aka Wenchd Graphix with Heather’s It’s a Pink Thang kit. This kit is so versatile. Make sure you go to Heather’s new store and pick it up.

Let’s see what fab freebies are out there today.

Hope to see you tonight at the chat! If you’re free during the day, there’s a chat at SBB with Raechel Knight at 3 pm EST. It’s the weekly Wednesday Sketch crop. It’s always a great time!
Until next time - Scrap Happy!

RAKalicious!!!

Hi there!

Remember in yesterday’s post, I mentioned that Cate paid it forward and arranged for a RAK from Meredith Fenwick for me. Well, here’s one of the items I picked. Twilight Dreaming. It’s a beautiful kit with amazing papers and elements. Here’s a layout I did with it. That’s my niece Em in a sundress I bought her last summer, looking all ladylike. She’s such a diva. Click for additional credits. Also you can click on Meredith’s preview to be taken to her shop.

I had a horrible day at work. It was definately a Monday. Right before I was leaving, I was surfing DST and found a thread for RAK’s from AfriDigiDiva and thought why not. I’ve been RAKing people for Heather all last week. So I went and picked 5 items from her store and PM’d her. I got home from work, had to take Carmen to the vet (long messy story), got the vet bill for $141 (Thank God for Visa), came home and found I’d been RAK’d. Yeah! But wait, it get’s better. When I get my 4 shared links, there’s not 1 file, but wait for it….4 files!! 3 of the 5 items I’d listed. Now that totally blew me away. The coolest thing is that the overlays and borders are commercial use. So look for some fab freebies later in the week. Isn’t that the coolest! Look at the overlay I made with the Butterfly overlay. I need to clean it up some, but I think it’s ok.
Click on the previews to go and see AfriDigiDiva’s shop over at ScrappersZone. I will definately go back for more. What a sweetheart.

Now for those of you who know a little about me, my dogs Carmen & Jazi are my babies. Spoiled through and though. When I used to have a decent job, they got more expensive haircuts than I did. Come to think of it, they still do, just not as often. Now we noticed over the weekend that there was a problem with Carmen. So being the good doggie mommy I am, I got an emergency appointment with the vet. She’ll be all better in a few days. I’ll spare you the details, but it’s not pretty.

Don’t forget the chat’s Wednesday night. Tallula Moon’s Scrap a Deal over at 3 Scrapateers at 10 pm EST and when that’s done, jump over to DST for Heather’s Grand Opening chat. Freebies at both with a special freebie from me if you make both and participate in both. lol. Don’t just pop in, but chat.

The freebies are kinda sparse today. But I wanted to show you what Andrea did with her prize winnings from Heather’s secret contest. Isn’t her little one adorable! If you have done layouts with Heather, Kelli (Tallula Moon) or Fantacy’s designs, email me a link and I’ll spot light it here.

It’s raining cats and dogs here. The radar is green straight through back to Illinois. I wish we could send some of that rain to Southern California. Please remember to keep all of those people affected by this major fire in your thoughts and prayers. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through.

Until next time, scrap happy!
Diane

Monday, ugh.

Happy Monday?!?
Well a last minute decision to go down to spend one last weekend down at the camper, a busy day at work on Sat. and a server at that office that is slower than molasses, I never got the freebies up. This time of year is always so sad for us. The dogs even sense the time is closing in. Next weekend we close down the camper for 5 long months. We hung out with some of the other campers, watched football and baseball and tried to clean up the camper some. It was nice, but I was in major computer withdrawal.

So Heather’s got her store open. Did you stop by this weekend? did you pick up her fab freebie? Don’t forget her chat at DST on Wed. night, freebies galore there too! I had 5 winners of my guess Heather’s secret contest. Andrea, Cate, Shell, May & Jan. There were 2 different prizes given out; Dirt Don’t Hurt - It’s a Pink Thang & Heather’s personal grab bag.
Cate got a chance to play with her prize. Isn’t her layout adorable! If you have done a layout with any of Heather’s new products, email me at carjaziscraps “at” gmail “dot” com with a link to your layout & I’ll feature it here.

I also want to thank Cate. I got home from the camper to find a PM from DST and in it the most excellent surprise. The RAK threads over at DST have been going nuts lately with lots of designers posting. Both Cate & I posted for a RAK from Merideth Fenwick. Cate was one of the ones who was picked. She contacted Merideth and asked her if she could pay it forward and give it to me? Not only did Merideth ok that, but also let Cate use the coupon too. How cool was that? It’s really nice, Heather lets me RAK often as long as I don’t go nuts. Kelli over at Tallula Moon is pretty much the same way. So I do a lot of RAKing. It’s a nice feeling. Thanks Cate.

Ok, the office is open & I’ve got tons of things to do. Here’s some of the fab freebies that are out there for today (some from Sat.) Click on the previews to go to the blogs.

Until next time, scrap happy!

Diane

A Grand Opening and don’t forget about a chat

Happy Saturday!!!!!

Hope your weekend is off to a smashing start. I finally got a start on the 2008 calanders that I’m working on for family. I’m using Amy Bleser’s Calander template. Let me tell you it’s making this a breeze. You can pick it up at Scrapbook-Bytes here.
Here’s the first page I have done. Shutterfly was having a contest and I won a free calander so I need to get the rest of the months done before I leave for my vacation next month.

Yeah!!! It’s finally here. I’ve been playing with this secret for awhile now. I’m so glad I don’t have to keep quite anymore. Heather Manning has opened her own store!!!! http://digiscrapping.net/
Make sure you stop by and check it out. She’s having a fab sale to celebrate! Look at her grab bags. You can see what you’re getting. I think this is a wonderful idea. How often have you picked up a grab bag and gotten things you either already have or will never use. Well take a look at what she has. One is for commercial use! So all you designers out there, run don’t walk over to check it out.
Remember the QP I was giving away to all who played the game? Well it was made with items from the grab bag. Heather also has a special surprise for everyone who stops by today and tomorrow. Don’t forget her chat on Wed. at DST. She has a fab surprise for all who attend.

Speaking of chats, Tallula Moon Designs Kelli is hosting the My Favorite Things chat over at 3 Scrapateers tonight at 9 pm EST. I hope you’ll stop by and say hi. The participation freebie is a wonderful fall set. You can see some of it in the ad I made below.
Kelli also has the Scrap A Deal chat going on right before Heather’s chat on Wed. night. Kelli’s chat will be at 3 Scrapateers. Anyone who attends both chats will get a special prize from me. I hope you’ll come out to support both of these great ladies!
Wow, time flies on Saturday mornings. I still gotta go into work for a few hours. Once I get into the office, I’ll check on any freebies and add them in.
One last thing, GO Bucks!!!!!
Today is Homecoming at Ohio State and the big game is this afternoon (Thank God I’ll be home from work by then!) against the Michigan State. We are favored big, but with the way the season has gone for so many in the top 10, it’s screwy, you never know what’s going to happen. Our destiny is in our own hands. Win out, go to the championship. It’s a long ways away and there’s a BIG bullseye on our back, but I believe!
Until next time, scrap happy!
